The right car depends on how you plan on using it.
I had an S4 for a year or so. It's a great car for everyday and someone who needs the utility of four doors and a trunk. I found it to not be raw enough for a sporting car, nor luxurious enough for a luxury car. But I have other cars, so I like my cars to be more focused.
My best friend ran an S5 for a while. He liked it, it was comfortable, good looking, but not flashy. It's a great daily driver, but can be heavy on gas and is not CRAZY fast. It's also not great for the track, around town it's fantastic. Taking a girl out, it's great, hitting an on ramp it's great, rain falling, it's great. For ultimate thrills the M3 is still better (his last car). He swapped the S5 out for an R8 V10 because he wanted an actual sports car.
I have a TTRS and it's a great car. Follow my posts and you can see what I thought.
T O P. L I N E:
It has a great dramatic feel when you sit in it. The low window, the short wheelbase, it makes you feel like you are not in a normal car.
The engine is awesome. It has a great power band and a fizzy feel. I love it. You always have power when you need it.
The shifter sucks. It's very vague and hurts you on the track.
The factory alignment is too numb. Get a proper track set up and the car comes alive.
The stock Toyo tires are useless, I changed them out for some Yokohamas and the car came alive. Much more eager in corners, less understeer.
The stock rotors are a joke. I warped two sets in three months (3 track days). I have a set of Loba racing rotors with AP discs coming. The stock pads are no good either, change them for some Pagid blues..
BUT...
It's a blast to drive. once you fix the less than stellar bits it's a lot of fun and it does very well on the track. I never really get passed and it pulls times that are normally reserved for much more powerful cars.
The power is very easy to put down. The car flatters the driver. It has a natural feel to it, not synthetic at all. Perhaps because it's a six speed.
It has tremendous grip. You loose the grip in a linear way too.
With the right tires and alignment the car feels less "dead" and more alive. it does not match the Porsche, but for the average driver it's likely more exploitable.
The low speed steering feel is usual Audi crap. At speed it weights up and feels fairly good.
The exhaust note at speed is nice and angry, but around town it's weak, even with the sport exhaust.
It's a very useable car. Lots of space, comfortable, great on gas, reliable and modable. I have a Supercharged Range Rover Sport and an Aston Martin V12 Vantage and I STILL enjoy every drive in the TTRS. It delivers it's own brand of fun. I really like this car.
I have also owned a 2009 Boxster S and it was a fantastic car. One of the ones I wish I had kept. The cayman likely delivers even more enjoyment. Awesome steering, great brakes, mid engined dynamics (good and bad with that depending on your skill), rea wheel drive (also good and bad). With the sport exhaust it is an aural treat. These cars are exciting and fun a low speeds and for a road car that's important. You can work it withou losing your license.
I would go TTRS or Cayman S. choose the Audi if you need the occasional seats and the AWD. Choose the Porsche if you want a pure sporting car (track) and don't care about stoplight drag races.
A used Cayman might take some of the sting out of the price premium.
Can't go wrong either way.

Be aware Audi are on the war path for ECU mods. Apparently the have been TD1'ing cars. Could hurt resale as the car gets logged in Germany as non-warrantable.
That's the only thing stopping me from chipping mine.
If you settle on the S5, I have a 2012 brilliant red/black automatic Prestige model, sport diff and 19" wheels. Car has 762 miles and asking $59,499. It's a brand new car....... Oh, and it has H&R sport springs installed. It's on eBay, cars.com and autotrader and a couple of the Audi forum sites.
I often drive a A4 sline full equip but i found this car not aggressive as i want... I prefer sport car
Do you prefer TT-RS or Cayman R?
Are you test driving also an 911?
If the price was not a fact, would you choose a 911 over a cayman R?

I have driven the new 991 as well. To me it's not as involving as the 997.2 or the Cayman.
I've owned several 911's in the past. I still have the Cayman R. For me it's the clear winner. For others, the 911 may be a better fit. You really can't go wrong with any of your choices.
the TTRS is very fast in a straight line (some mags clocked 0-62 in 3.8 sec,) but no slouch on a track either.
the cayman with its RWD and midengine layout is a bit more fun through twisties and b-roads.
the other 2 (S4,S5) are by far the better daily drivers.

When I changed out my alignment, tires and Haldex, I shaved more than 2 seconds off my time. The tires likely did the most for the car and more than swallowed the gap between it and the Cayman (cayman has better rubber to begin with).
The alignment and Haldex changed the understeer. It became very easy to swing the rear end around. At first that was slowing me down, as it's more abrupt than the predictable slide of a RWD car. But I quickly figured it out and the car was not only more fun, but faster. Though not as "safe".
I think Audi neutered the car, just a Porsche does so it's a comfortable distance from the big brother.
