RS5 - Worth it?
Don't know about that one. When I was looking for a car earlier this month I could not find a GTR that was the right color and price/age. I think the two are a bit different. Yes, the GTR is faster but I would have to mod the crap out of it before I would like it. I was thinking downpipes, Cobb, HKS resonated mid pipe and Meistercraft exhaust. This car already has everything spacers, engine cover, etc and with those damn carbon brakes that I cannot source without paying $14k and some rims the car is perfect.
Fabryce- in reviewing this thread, it seems you have had your RS5 for awhile now. For the RS5 owner, what would you suggest as optimum mods/upgrades for the RS5 (still used as a DD)? This is what I'm guessing for starters:
1 Brake fluid/SS lines
2. Front & rear swaybars
3. Ceramic brakes conversion
As far as engine/trans??
Overall what are your thoughts about the car now that you've had it awhile?
Thank you so much!

Update!!!!!!!::::
The RS5 is more special than I thought. Last week I was doing some research on Audi's German main site and on YouTube and I learned that the car IS NOT built by Audi. It's built by Quattro GmbH, with its own unique VIN and everything. During the 2013-15 model years, only 1,500 total will be imported here and mine is #94. The only external panel from the A5 is the roof and the doors. Everything else is Quattro specific. The reason the car does not have dynamic ride control DRC, is because the mounts did not comply with US crash regs so they were pulled. I personally like the fixed dampers besides it saves weight. Lastly, this is week 4 with the car and I learned that it does not really like street driving. The clutch sometimes engages with a modest thump and it does not bother me. I attribute that to double clutch gearbox general behavior. But the car LOVES to go fast and it performs better the harder you push it. Quattro even put a little burp in the exhaust during up shifts!

2. ECS tuning has them on sale and Fabryce does too!
3. Like finding a needle in a haystack.
Only engine mod I found was APR and it was only good for 8hp. Boooooooo!!! I'm curious to see what he recommends too!
I agree with the positives. I've driven the RS5 a little on public roads and had a friend with me while hot lapping it.
It isn't the fastest, but it is a fantastic car and one of the few I immediately felt comfortable at 9/10ths and full throttle over the crest at turn 1 at MRLS. Great interior and yes, the brakes do need upgrading for track duty. They were crackling and smoking after 2.8 laps.
Love that car.

BTW, your RS5 is stunning. It looks all business. The GT-R looks like the floor portion of a Hoover upright vacuum cleaner... IMHO, YMMV, etc.

I would do Alu kruez before the sway bars or at least in combo. One you start doing sway bars you better start thinking about dampers and that starts to get expensive! Gmg carries a jrz version which look the best to me.
As far as the ceramic rotors go, they are great for the track, but if most of the use is dd it's a waste of money. Get a good lightweight two piece after mkt, it's cheaper.
Thanks for the luv. She is a beast and yeah the GT-R is not very pretty but you must respect her.
I have done the fluids, pads and lines, it's much better. I am using porterfield RS-4 pads, a great mixed street/race pad. I would do Alu kruez before the sway bars or at least in combo. The CC brakes do not last very long when doing track days and are far better suited for long lasting DD use.
Virtually all CC equipped Porsches used for track days have a standard brake conversion done.
Is there a secret with Audi or hasn't it been tracked enough?
This is absolutely contrary to what every Porsche owner with CC brakes that does track days have found. I hear the CC brakes for dd are tough as they need to warm up to be effective. In the spending 8k for dd brakes is crazy to me and worthless. Get a great aftermarket version if you want a little better and it will still be half price. It's where I am headed.
No question the lighter, more heat resistant CCs are best for racing.
But on the street, the pad compound is different, so I am curious how much heat is needed for them to be effective?

JM, I found the Alu Kruez at 3Zero3 Motorsports does it really make that much of a difference? I'm excited, I think it will be a good mod. I decided not to do the Klein exhaust and I'm going to use your pads when these are up. I'm pondering the sway bars now but I need to chill with all these mods I have only had the car for 4 weeks.
No, no respect for the GT-R here whatsoever. Sorry. YMMV.
