CF door pull trim alignment issue

Posting on behalf of a friend who has the CF interior package for his R8. The driver side door pull has a unwanted gap around 5mm between where the two pieces of CF met.

I have circled the area in question on the picture and was wondering if its a simply a loose screw or a worn clip of some sort? I've tried pushing the CF piece back in but it pops back out.

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

J

Could be a clip isn't seating properly. You may want to just buy a cheap roll of 3M foam tape like they use to attach trim pieces, and just tape the pieces together. It will hold them so that the gap doesn't come back, and it will also prevent it from rattling. Otherwise, I would say pull it apart and replace the offending clip.

Thanks!

I will pull off the speaker grill and see if I'm able to resolve the issue.
