Love some input on the Audi RS5
I have been driving a C2 991 Carrera for the past two years but the seats are really uncomfortable for long drives (and I have the 18 way seats) Thinking of an RS 5 or a Mercedes c63 amg or upgrading to a C2S model. Porsche is most expensive by far.
Love to get some input from the forum.

The thing that keeps me away from the RS5 is that it isn't Turbocharged, same as the B7 RS4. You can't get much more power out of them without dumping in a lot of money. The RS2, B5 RS4, RS6, TT RS, RS7, can all be bumped up with just a tune for cheap. And for what it would take to get more power out of the RS5 the rest can be made monsters. The RS5 is a nice handling modern car with all of the modern conveniences though.
The M stuff may work where you are but here in the great Northwest that doesn't necessarily get a lot of rain but a lot of slightly wet days, and roads, a AWD Audi will dust an M Product. Although you can get a E63 AMG in 4matic, what about the C63AMG?
I've had my 13' RS5 since last April (23,000 miles) and it is a great car. A true Jekyll and Hyde car. Sports exhaust, Bang & O, loaded. I have done as many performance mods as a could but let me clarify something for you. There are no real significant speed mods for this car. The APR tune is only good for 5hp, not worth the $5k in my opinion. I did too many little suspension mods to mention here but the car is a jewel and with some rubbing it is a freaking animal. Oh and the paper claim of "only" 450hp is Audi being cute. It has way more, this was confirmed by my Audi tech. If you are really serious, DM me and I will give you a run down of my goody list.

There isn't much to be done to the NA Audi motors. Unless you want to slap on an APR supercharger kit that costs $16,000 in parts alone. Not to mention there has been stipulation about having emissions issues with not being able to pass with the kits as well.
If you get an Audi, get an RS7. A tune alone with a full exhaust system will give you absurd amounts of power. Plus, those engines with an exhaust sound absolutely amazing. I wouldn't say the tunes are cheap, at least the quality ones, but it's so worth the money. I speak from experience of these upgrades on a customers RS7. When he ran the 100 octane map, he was blown away. Doing those items as well as DV's just really sets the car apart from a stock one. Such a huge difference.
Unless you're fine with being stock and love having all motor, stick with the RS5. It's a beautiful car to say the least. Good luck!

I have had a few of the S and RS models and driven most of them. By far one of the best cars made, i believe is the RS5. From the looks to the handling to the exhaust roar to the perfect interior, with the All wheel drive, you really will find it hard to beat with anything else. There are other choices in the market i agree, but over what is available, I would pick the RS5 as the top choice. Drive them all for half a day and not just for a few minutes, and that should help you decide. Good luck
