lol, i bet you got a chuckle out of that one arling!

I guess I was one of the lucky few to really drive it. SalesPunk and I went bright and early on sunday to drive it at the Carslbad event. I also drove it on saturday, but had an actual audi employee / tech in the car (the other ride-along people were just hired guns) and he wasn't exactly thrilled when I got it to 80 or 90 on the freeway. Sunday though, it was a different story

Glad you liked it though. Since my experience driving crazier cars is pretty limited, I wondered how it compared to others. How would you guys who got to drive / ride in it compare it to something more sporty like a C2S or even EVO MR?

angry,
i see cars beyond their price tags as u probably know. i judge them for what they are nothing more nothing less. i like it, especially the grey one.

as for comparsion, it felt much more soild than the EVO i had. it's quiet but u can still over heard the nice exhaust note. pulled harder as well & healthy. i said it before & gonna say it again, it rode very well sporty but comfortable. the size of the car is what i like the most. perfect for daily drive except the price tag is gonna hurt it imo.

Yeah, I kinda guessed that you would. That's why i wondered what your opinion on it was when compared to other somewhat similar cars.

The grey one is the one we really got to drive, I'll always have a special place for it in my memory bank... haah
Did you get to play with the S switch at all? For just cruising around, the car rode really nicely, then when you hit the S, the suspension firmed up and the exhaust note got a lot deeper.

lol, I said it before, If they brought the avant version - I'd already have one on order. I don't know if I'll order the sedan though, maybe I'll just pick up your used one in a couple years once you get sick of it

The Avant will follow in a couple of months. At least for the European market, dunno about NA.

I know I will get shot for this...but cupholders are not THAT bad. I drove for 5+ hrs today and having a cupholder for an energy drink / whatever was nice
I agree with you on the cupholder issue. But actually, having the starter button doesn't mean that there's no cupholder on the european version.

As for the cool seats, if you buy them from Volkswagen I'd imagine you could save a couple of grand....

As far as I can tell, those are the same seats. Except for the logos and seams of course. I gotta admit though, that the RS4 seats look much nicer...

You talking about the cupholder?

It's above the radio, just below the vents. I googled an image for you:

This if course is a standard sized European cupholder, so I don't think you can fit a 7-11 Big Gulp in there.

no, it's a different setup I think. There was 2 cupholders down between the seats, behind the shifter but in front of the armrest. I don't think it had the cupholder in the normal spot, I remember seeing that and thinking it was different than previous versions.

Can't just get VW seats. The seats in the RS4 have active bolsters, which is why they cost so much.
