Audi guys: sell me on the RS4

Why should I spend 70k + on this car? Looking for a reason to love the car, what's the scoop.

Listen to Jeremy Clarkson or Tiff Needell.
Its an awesome car, the price however is a big minus.
Anyone know how many are coming over here? Thats the biggest question regarding the second hand value on a car like this!

i drove one a few days ago.
doesnt feel as quick as the claim but it was very nice.
i was looking to love the car and buy it on the spot but didnt love it.
whilst fully optioned, it lacked the quality of material feel in say an M5 or any similar priced BMW. i have had an E46 M3 and the fit and finish IMO is better - not quality of finish but quality of materials.
just didnt feel like its price...

sounds awesome ... still trying to love it. shouldnt have to try though

Saw one today and though I haven't driven it, suffice to say its not blowing away its competition. I'm sure audiusa can find 6-800 good homes for this car, just not worth a 10-12K premium over a loaded M3/C55 IMO.

Not that quick, maybe marginally better handling than both the dated C55 and really dated M3. I have to say this car waters down teh RS badge a bit.

I really like my S4, but I can't see the RS being worth a dime over $65k. Once you break the 70's, I'm going all the way to an M5 for that money; bigger, faster, better. I mean, do the math: 70k buys you a new 997 coupe, a new 500hp Z06, a new Boxster + a new A4, a new M3 + a Harley, etc.

$0.02

You'll have to PM and we'll hold a 6Speed GTG sometime. Tucson is a great place and UA is a good school. You should enjoy it.

BTW - Need an S4 to cruise around in? Will give 6Speed discount.

Here's a video from 5th gear that has the RS4 against the e46 M3...and as much as I want to love the RS4...I still think the M3 looks better and is surprisingly closely matched to the RS4 (this coming from someone who's had a few Audis with the most recent being a B6-S4). Granted, the drifting stuff in the video is lame in terms of a comparison bench mark, but RS4 didn't distance itself from the M3 by much on the track. And you can see that the understeer is still a significant issue for the RS4 (it was more brutal in the S4 when I tracked it).

So, we're all more or less in agreement it seems. RS4 is nice but too far away in price from M3/C55 and too close to M5 for its performance. Styling is too tame, depreciation worries are legit. Love don't come easy for this German beast.
Where are the true believers?
