I've posted before about my indecision over this car. Tonight, I finally picked up the car, and the Dealer held it two weeks for me while I made up my mind.

I have owned many cars and I'd slot this one between the older M5 (sold) and Cayenne turbo (currently owned)

For those of you who think this car is too expensive ($73,500), I say after 50+ car purchases..you don't know what you're talking about.

The car is LETHAL, easy to drive, flexible, responsive and loaded with features. I bought a 997 S (X51) a few weeks ago and it is comparible (if you need a 4 door there is no comparison).

IMO, it is one of the great automotive values (and my first Audi) of all time..I also said that about the VW R32 (and was proved correct).

So, as I began, beg, borrow or steal (legally) to get one of these. I wish Audi would stop building them right now!

To think that I dithered over this car...... sometimes I'm my own worst enemy!

 

OK----what car is it (S4, S6, RS4, RS6 )

 

i just love the new RS4's. too bad US isn't getting the avant version. post pics too.

It's actually very competitive with the two.

RS4 Loaded = $73K ($66 base)
M5 $81K Base
997S $81K Base

It beat the M5 around the ring by 4 seconds, was beaten by the 997S by likewise 4 seconds, tied the M6.

 

Hey... what kind of gas mileage are you getting with that RS4...??

 

I think due to the direct injection technology it is better than I expected. Highway 24, city 14, combined 18 - 19.

 

That's very good gas mileage... 18 mpg that is... some guy quoted 13 mpg for the regular S4... is FSI on the S4 as well or just the RS4?

 

Audi is slowly expanding the models that have FSI. The S4 V8 hasn't gotten it yet. Though the A6 v8 has starting in MY07. I haven't heard any rumors if they are going to indeed do that or not. It is a big question being that the new B8 4 series model line is coming out supposedly in a year.

 

I saw a friend's he picked up last week. Very nice. Subtly strong styling. I disagree on the price though. It should have come in for about 5-7 less.

 

they're currently pretty much all sold out here in CA surprisingly. when is the next batch coming in?
