In my car street is greyed out until, I manually put in the city each and every time. I have read through the manual, but can't figure a way to do it. My wife's A6 with MMI asks you if you want one of the previous input cities, and lists the last few used.

 

You can do it. You need to scroll through the menu and you will find previous dest. It is confusing. Also you can save it in your memory and name it like "Mom"
