While absolute dates were not discussed or provided, the "talk" is mid year, between May and August. The official dealer launch for the R8 will be early Feb in Las Vegas. Not all dealers will be invited to the launch.

YES, there will only be 200 R8 units for the US in calender year 2007. US availability in 2008 is projected at 500-800 units out of less than 3,000 annual units for worldwide sales. It was stated at the Detroit show that Audi will build 15 R8 units per day and not adjust to market demand. If Audi holds to their production comments, there will never be a glut of R8 units in the US, making the car that much more desirable because of exclusivity.

I have not committed to a color as yet since I can't order until late Feb. I currently favor Ibis White with gray interior and Carbon sigma or silver Sigma side blades. Second choice is Ice Silver or Daytona Pearl Effect (same color as my RS4)

 

That are nice color combos. It looks in all that colors amazing.

 

Ibis White would look killer. It is my current favorite colour that Audi offers.
