rs4 seat memory module: dealership gets an F

issues:
=seat memory module doesn't memorize seat angle
=dvd won't eject from the in-dash nav unit
=factory ECM flash update

-appt: took 2 weeks to get (rs4 tech at training) and car arrived at 8am

-2:30pm: still communicating with audi tech support on the nav issue

-5:00pm: all is done with the exception of the seat memory

conversation with service advisor:

tells me that they had the seat working earlier in the day but that at 5:00 the mechanic said it had reverted back to its faulty ways (hmmm....i've tried the memory setting since purchase without success).....so i asked them why they hadn't tried putting in a new memory seat module....his response? "it doesn't work that way......need to further diagnose and try further programming.....will need the car for another day." OK...what am i missing? so i asked him "how long did you spend on working on getting the disc to eject from the in-dash NAV unit?" his response "four hours....lots of back and forth with audi tech to get it figured out..." i basically told him that it was their lack of knowledge why it took so long....4 hours to unlock a code that should have been done PRIOR to delivery? needless to say i left their an unhappy customer and all he could do was to offer up the mechanic for further questioning and explanations. the seat memory module issue is really what burned me.....CAN'T PUT IN A NEW PART UNTIL FURTHER PROGRAMMING IS DONE? *** that.

ok, i feel a little better now.

A good opportunity to ask them to make it right... who knows what you can get out of it (not that it will be equivalent to the value of your time).

don't worry, i didn't go to yours

my displeasure isn't with any one individual but simply what appears to be their lack of understanding in how to remedy a simple problem. one would think that having an appointment and giving them the car for 9 hours would suffice.

is mine the only audi that they have worked on with a seat memory issue? i don't think so. and i do find it hard to believe that they had it working and it surprisingly reverted back to its old ways 5 minutes before 5pm.

regards

i can't believe that Audi North America hasn't clued into this yet.....still a mystery at my dealer and it has been in now TWO FAKING TIMES!!!!!!!! i finally got the service manager's attention and it is now in his hands and it's his fate.

the hesitancy to simply replace the module is like no other that i've seen before.

I'm bringing it back in tomorrow, and if they can't fix it I'll demand a new car.

see what i'm talking about? it's all about programming to them but they don't have the FOGGIEST FAKING IDEA what the fix is.......i truly am SICK AND FACKING TIRED of this nonsense and soon enough Audi North America will have a bigger problem on their hands.

STOP THE PROGRAMMING AND START REPLACING THE MODULES WITH ONES THAT WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i still don't feel any better

That blows - I'm almost afraid to assign the key to seat memory... It's working fine so far and I'm the only one who will ever drive it.

Went back to the dealer this morning. They claim to have misunderstood the problem, but now that I showed them they understand and admit to having heard that Audi is having a problem; they have a call into Audi to ask them to replace the memory module.

I would say they have an issue with there S/W that is why they don't want to replace the module since they are having the same problems on other car models as well. Painful process resolving S/W problems, sounds like the office to me
