Somehow I don't think a GT30 on a 1.8 liter would be very fun. GT2871R's already have ridiculous lag. Plus its a show car, I wonder how much time they really spent tuning the turbo rather then just strapping on something big to win a car show.

imo...

Anyone see this though?

Total Power: Estimated to be 500+ WHP

And then this?

Pauter Rods Custom Machined for Stock Pistons

I doubt this thing is putting through 500awhp. He'd have to be boosting that thing to atleast 25-30 psi.

1.8L with 500 hp? God-freakin-dayum, the lag must be out of this world.

Depends on the tune, although with the vw/audi motors, the redlines are around 7k if I'm not mistaken, with that turbo it would be full spool around 3500-3750rpm, so you figure 3250-3500rpm of useable power.

If the tuner retarded the timing a bit when tuning the turbo would spool quicker, although it would be less responsive, then again if the tuner advanced the timing enough, then it'll be responsive and spool later.

The Honda's can get away with the bigger turbos and lag because they mostly typically rev up to 8500-9000rpm, so you have quite a bit more rpm's to play with.

350-400hp is pretty much the "best" amount of power to make with this engine maintaining drivability and good range.
