I put down a deposit on my dealer's first RS6 allocation last October. They called yesterday to spec it. I just turned it down because the only transmission that is currently being offered is the automatic.

If they are calling to spec I have to believe we'll see the car in the next 3 months.

Where you expecting a manual? I don't think they will ever put a manual in a RS6/S6. Or were you hoping for DSG?

 

The current RS6 is an auto.....why would they change?

 

I was hoping for DSG. I'd love a manual, but I knew that was going to happen. Very frustrating since the RS4 and R8 have it.

I am #1 on the list at my dealer and they have heard nothng yet, I am surprised that your dealer already called for the specs.

 

I don't really have more information to share - I suppose I should have drilled him more :-) I know they got more than one allocation.

The salesman I drove the S8 with today said one of our members here, who I won't name, has ordered an RS6 but it sounded like alot is still up in the air.

 

I specd out my R8 y'day at my local dealer who is one of if not the lgst dealer in the country by volume. I have purchased an '03 rs6 an S8 thru them last yr and now an R8, so I have a pretty good relationship with them. They told me the most recent comment from Audi to them, is they are not even sure if they are going to bring the new RS6 to the USA, so I can't understand how another memeber said he already got a call to spec his car out.
