Milltek or Magnaflow?

I'm trying to decide between two exhaust systems: Magnaflow or Milltek. The Magnaflow is about $750 and the Milltek around $1700. I've read (and heard on youtube) both sound terrific, but the Magnaflow has quad tips while the Milltek has oval tips.

Given the price difference, seems like the Magnaflow is the way to go... I like the Magnaflow price, but the Milltek oval tips (looks more stock). Has anyone purchased one or the other and had any regrets, issues, etc?

I'm faced with the same tough question. I prefer the milltek tips, and the ability to mate their downpipes to the system later on are a big plus. However the magnaflow is hard to ignore due to price and it is probably the better system since they have a true x-pipe design versus millteks h-pipe.

If you like the Magnaflow tips and you don't think you want to do downpipes then magnaflow is the easy pick.

Kem,

Does adding downpipes affect the warranty in anyway? I probably won't add them so I'm starting to lean towards the Magnaflows. I've been reading some really good things about the Magnaflows on AW so I'm just about to pull the trigger...

I've heard some people not change their downpipes because of fear of warranty concerns, however you could just have the stockers put back on if you had a catastrophic engine failure. Even then they really shouldn't affect warranty and a cool dealer should be fine with it. But you just never know.

not trying to convince or argue which is better (ahem) but i am truly happy with my Milltek non-res'd, non-valve'd, stock downpipe system.

i think it's all about what you want and what you want to afford. i am drawn to the Milltek pipes, I think their sound is mean as hell. i made the decision not to go with downpipes so the non-resonated was what i chose. if you do choose to go with downpipes then definitely consider the non-res'd catbacks.

best success

I have the Milltek Non-valved, Resonated pipes, and down pipes. I love the sound of the car it is intoxicating. I just ordered the non-resonated center section of the pipes to wake her up even more. I am also trying to decide if I want to go with EVOMS Intake or to go with Hyperflow from stratmosphere. The quality and fit is great.

Well, I decided to go with the Milltek resonated, non-valved. They're getting installed this Tuesday, along with the Euro RS4 steering wheel and stratmosphere short shift kit. I went with these over the MF only because of the oval tips.

I've now got a set of Magnaflow catbacks (still in the box) sitting in my office. PM me if anyone's interested.

Millteks or Magnaflow

I just installed my new Milltek system last week, at first I went with the non-res non valved system. After driving it around for a couple of days I decided that it was way too loud for me and purchased the res-pipes. I had them installed and now the sound is perfect for a family guy like me...and before everyone says that the system needs to break-in before you hear the true sound. I bought the setup used so it was already broken-in. By the way I am selling the non-res pipes if anyone is looking for some. Just email me at knemeth@e-metier.com.
