Pristine 02' 996 C2S

I'm posting this for a friend, and fellow 6speeder (not enough posts)...

I am not well-known on 6speedonline; but, many people know me from the BMW community and can vouch for my veracity and character. At heart, I have always been a BMW owner since I club race with BMW (or attempt to) with an IP M3.

In order to maintain full disclosure, there is a CEL caused by the high-flow CATS. The previous owner was Alan C. (active member on rennlist). Apparently, it has something to do with the voltage drop and increased air flow; but, does not affect anything. Alan disclosed this to me when I purchased it, and, Beechmont Porsche confirmed no issues. It actually goes away if you have an OBD-II reader and reset it. It comes back if you sit in traffic and inch along (which can be common in the DC area). The software is stock -- so, purchasing aftermarket software would solve this issue to take into account the increased airflow. They do sound mean though!

Since it is a CPO vehicle, I avoided that route with the software upgrade. I would sell to a fellow porsche enthusiast for $46K: no games. I figure this vehicle is worth between $45-48K considering the mileage, condition, relative rarity, and modifications. KBB places this car at $43,860 without modifications. I believe the price is fair. There are two buttons pushed in on the dash (rear window wiper and lock button). The CPO covers the repair and I was figuring if someone wanted a PPI completed, I would have those items taken care of. I do not know the complete option list; but, it is fairly extensive including extended leather, bose, litronic headlights, rear wiper, etc. It does not have PCM. No accidents and I have title in hand for a smooth transaction.

The vehicle is located in Reston, VA. I am willing to have a PPI done at your cost. I would ask that the PPI be done on a Saturday though because of my hectic work schedule (I commute 90 miles roundtrip and do not have time during the week to drop off). The Porsche dealership in Tyson's Corner, VA is the closest to me. Alternatively, the mechanic for my IP M3 race car, hired a Porsche Technician about 6 months ago from a Porsche race shop that could also do it for a cheaper cost than the dealership. I have owned the vehicle for about 1.5 years and put approximately 3K on it. Alan C. was the 2nd owner and purchased it as a CPO vehicle from Beechmont Porsche. I am the third owner.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at: james (dot) derry (at) gmail (dot) com. I do not check this site frequently.

Regards,

James
