2017 Steering Wheel

It looks like 2017 911 is getting the Macan style PDK pedal +multifunction sport steering wheel.

Anyone know if we can retrofit these to 991 Carrera's? I am very close to dishing out $2k for a Sport steering swap on my 13 C2S but will wait if this is possible.

Odds are no. They deliberately do this to not make it compatible. Reason to buy the new car.

I asked my dealer about this, and they said No, but I still wonder if it could be achieved by unofficial means!

Any information welcome.

How would they know I wonder. Maybe they have the parts list and a comparibility sheet there already?

Maybe. Or maybe they were just being not totally helpful!

You would need the new style airbag, and at least from the 987 swap below, the multifunction features do not work:

Yes I did. Was an easy swap at the dealer. Cost me $1,500 and that's using my same airbag. Keep in mind, just a different steering wheel for the 991.1. No big deal.

The new steering wheel has a different sized airbag too. Supposedly someone did do the swap on a GT3 with the GT3RS wheel. I've yet to see it, but someone mentioned a new control module and recoding. This was on the GT3 board on Rennlist. Impossible, probably not, but $$$$ and doubt a dealer would do any recoding work.

$1500 including labor and everything? You must have had a non MF wheel to begin with. I am getting quoted $1k for the wheel $500 for the stalk $500 for installation, so about $2k

PM with questions. I'm usually on Rennlist and not here often.

Yes, had the MF wheel before.
