I've driven a few E-gears from 04 - 06+ and none of them feel as exciting as a 6-speed so just looking at the market.

Got my 997 GT3 but somehow it just lacks the "wow" factor of my Gallardo so I kinda miss that a bit....though the GT3 is in every way faster and more liveable/tossable

I concur with your belief that this was not a monetary scam, as that would require malicious intent and more sophisticated thinking. I've always viewed this as a case of the lips moving before the brain. Plain and simple, Rick wants to be known as a baller, so he purports to be interested in buying cars, real estate, etc. The problem is that he has neither the knowledge or monetary resources to acquire these things.

Thus, he must resort to "Poserballing" to gain recognition and prestige. In and of itself, poserballing is generally innocuous and widespread. However, when you start listing cars for sale that you don't have and inquiring about cars that you can't afford, it can get very annoying. On top of this, Rick does this on at least 5 car sites. It's a considerable waste of time for potential buyers and sellers and we all get bored listening to his tales of his "near-purchases" of Ferraris, Lamborghinis, high end Porsches,Mercedes and (fill in your car here). And with all this, he's still driving his S2000....

On the bright side, this has brought a lot of eyeballs into 6speed and has provided entertainment for many.

Methinks this guy is not the kind of member we should have here. I think he should be banned.

Hey, what do you have against S2k?

I would have kept my S2k in a heartbeat if someone told me that my 30K maintenance for the P-car was going to be $1K and I would be spending an additional $7K in fixing stuff and on mods!

For some reason I never told my neighbor about the maintenance costs either, he now has a 996 cab he just had to take in for a $2K clutch-job

It's like initiation...

Guys,
i have to be fair on this. i don't think Rick is trying to scam anyone. bashing him here is not gonna help the situation. plain & simple. he's trying to make some quick cash by flipping those cars. no comment on the intention but it is what it is. however, if ur dealer finds out what u're trying to do i doubt they'll still give u the car. i don't care how good the relationship u have with them this will end it. that's also probably why u can't talk to ur dealer having my friend takes the car directly from them.

u can't predict what the maket will be in the next 6 month. therefore if u want to play the game don't expect people will pay u the 15k now when the car is that far down the road. the whole fun is to buy & sell. like a gamble if u have the dough to play don't play. ur intention will prove urself. if u want the car buy it drive it sell it if u don't like no one will blame u for that. if u're set trying to make some quick cash ahead i can tell u the internet forums ae the last places u want to let the word out. u've seen it. i certainly wouldn't trade 15k profit for my name & reputation.

good luck.
Arling, thanks for the support - I have bought numerous things from your shop while Simon was there and I always appreciated the level of trust Lucent Motors has extended me in paying for products. I have never one NOT paid you for items that you sometimes sent out first just on my word.

Let me first say thanks to 993fan, byron and all the others who posted on this thread. I never imagined this type of publicity for such a simple thread but I'm not mad at anyone nor should I be as I've gotten tons more offers (whether they go through or not is between me and the buyer) but it's publicity nevertheless.

I never intended any malicious plan or scam on this deal. Whether you guys believe me or not is fine but the fact is I'm not asking for any money until the car is here plain and simple. Byron offered me the money and I declined since I do not have a guarantee from the dealer on the set date. We all know how dealers may not be totally honest. I don't see any scam here???

Byron I don't see how I can scam you since my terms were very safe and fair for both of us. I'm sorry you don't trust me since I'm pretty sure if we met in person we'd get along just fine

Rick in person and on the net are 2 different things. I think what has confused me the most is the ability not to provide me any documentation. If you had documentation then the deal would be done already. I even suggested that I call the dealer to clarify your order but you are unwilling to disclose where you are buying the car from. It is very simple Rick and not that hard to do. You said this dealer has sold you 4 cars and that you are on their preferred list. If this is the case one simple call from me to confirm the order would have put this thing to bed.
Lastly what swayed my mind was you wanted public backing and support from me as part of the deal. I find it very strange Rick and I appologize I feel this way.

Aloha

Rick one last thing....People are pasting what I say here on other forums and you are responding as if it is me. This is the only board I frequent and I appologize if other things are happening to you outside this forum.

Byron, why apologize?

So there's this guy I know. He tells me and other friends that he put a deposit on a Superleggera, GT3RS, and he's also buying a Murcie. He tells us the dealers where he put the deposit. So I talk to SVAG, where I purchased my F360, and they said my "friend" never put a deposit. And my other friend, who is on the forum, calls up Fletcher Jones and asked about the GT3RS deposit, and there was never a deposit there either. Needless to say, we called him on his BS and banned his ***.
