It is always the same. Just over a year ago I, after waiting 18 months, took delivery of a ZO6. Only paid sticker, fully loaded around $78k. Today you can buy them all day long at $8k+ off sticker. Happy with the car but clearly paid to have it THEN. In a short period of time there will great deals on this one as well. There are a finite number of people willing and able to pay $85k for a toy. Let alone a Nissan toy.

Just out of curiosity, how many Z06's are produced a year? Honestly, given the feedback and limited availability of the GT-R, I don't see it dropping below MSRP anytime in it's 3 year run.
Nissan is not a niche market company like Porsche or Ferrari. They will continue to ramp up production to meet demand. They need a halo car to draw attention to their showrooms and one vehicle per dealer is not going to hack it. Cars will be under MSRP much quicker than you think. As far as ZO6 production numbers? I am not sure on the total but I purchased mine through the number three Corvette dealer in the country and in the second year of production he was allocated five.

I have a Z06 as well. I waited and waited to buy because I refused to pay over sticker for anything. Most of the Vette dealers I talked with had plenty of cars to sell. GM produced over 15.000 units in the first 2 production years and the majority of those were in 07. IMO I would say your dealership isn't as big of a Vette dealer as they said they were. Either that or they had a lot more cars than they lead you to believe. Most people in 06 and some in 07 did pay over sticker for their Z's but the big dealers had more than 5 Z's for the year.

actually the nsx is a pretty low car too..
I think that may be wishful thinking. The 997 GT3 is available below MSRP already, I don't think the GT-R will be any different.
