que745, it is a common problem with higher mileage z3 M cars, depending on how they are driven. I would definitely do a search on bimmerforums in the z3 section.

Sweet ride, I just read about your "sitting on a towel" comment and had to chime in...you're not the only one ~ I do the same thing here and it's actually a great way to keep the seats clean, just dust it off

I once had a friend with an E36 325i (The Z3 is based on the E36 platform) and he had big problems with the subframe which cost him even bigger money (over $4k from what I remember). So it's definitely nice that this one has reinforcement.
