Well, the S4 was sold in Cali even after I put a deposit down. Found another one:

Intercity only does enclosed, they do not do open carriers.

I've shipped many cars, both enclosed and open. and have used Intercity for my last 4.

If you want some open carrier horror stories I'll tell you about my touareg that came back with 4 flat tires, a broken windshield, hail damage on the roof
or my wife's E63 that left the same day as the touareg but was "lost" for a week arriving 7 days later than the touareg with almost 200 extra miles

the 2 cars and motorcycle that I sent on the same move with intercity left my home 3 days later than our daily drivers but arrived cross country in 3 days (4-11 days before our DDs) with the same intercity driver parked in the same spot on his truck, covered with the drivers own car covers and dusted before they left the truck.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think Bobby took off his boots and put on slippers when he was in our cars.

You would probably be better off flying southwest for $200 and drive back in 5 hours. I just did that with an e30 M3 and the drive was quick.

With that said intercity has a vehicle in route for me from FL to Livermore, CA. Since Milpitas is practically next door they could work that out for you soon hopefully.

 

thanks for the note. i'd totally drive it except i'm not entirely confident with the build yet. it's a stroker motor, couple of big turbos, custom fueling, etc., etc, and it hasn't really been tested and driven. plus, the transmission is making a loud whine in 1st.

when i bought this car as a project years back, i drove it from reno back to so cal. most beautiful drive i've taken!

longest drive for a purchase was actually when i got my e30 from phoenix back to la in summer heat without a/c...that wasn't so much fun.
