91 Mustang Street Drag Radial Car (8sec car)

NHRA SPORTSMAN CERTIFIED TO 8.50 1/4 MILE through 2010, I have documentation. Car is still fresh.

Beautiful race/show 91 Mustang LX no rust all original 5.0 body(except hood), never wrecked, not even a fender bender. BENNETT RACING built 408 stroker. Ford Racing 351 sportsman block internal balance Scat 4340 crank + rods, Ross custom pistons 14-1. Canton girdle + 8 qt drag pan, AFR 205 aluminum heads by Bennett, girdles, roller rockers, custom grind solid lift Bullet roller cam, custom bump start button under the hood for easy valve adjustments, Super Victor intake matched + flowed by Bennett. Pro Systems 1000 carb, Steve Johnson Induction Solutions custom nitrous fogger system. Airflow director + wiper cowl cover. Kooks stainless headers, CSI electric water pump, High Output 16v Alternator, Moroso vacuum pump, MSD pro billet distributor. Separate Aeromotive pumps, lines, regulators for motor/nos. Built for at least 300 shot nos, 700 hp motor alone. Excellent quality and craftsmanship in roll cage, custom shifter mount, parachute mount+release lever mount, bottle bracket, battery hold downs and rear firewall. All wiring + plumbing very nicely done. Dual 16v batteries feed self resetting circuit breakers behind gas door, then up front to a Dedenbear relay center that feeds a Painless wiring fuse block+ 8 switch roll bar mount panel. MSD 7AL-2 Plus ignition, MSD multi function ignition controller with hand held control and individual cylinder timing. MSD pro-power hvc coil. PERFORMANCE AUTOMATIC (PA) powerglide trans w/ 2.76 low gear set, pro-brake, JW bell housing, JW flexplate, Ford Racing high torque mini starter, B+M Magnum grip pro stick shifter. welded 8.8 rear w/spool, Trick Flow cover, c-clip eliminators, all Moser internals, adjustable bar lower arms + adjustable uppers and Strange Adjustable rear shocks, UPR front coilover shocks, UPR front k-member and arms, UPR rear kit w/ sway bar. Flaming river rack + shaft, Wilwood master cylinder, Aerospace Components brakes all around. Bogart's racing wheels w/Goodyear ft's + MT 275/60 Drag Radials on the rear. I also have a set of slicks that go with the car as well. AUTOMETER digital readout playback tach, Kirkey seats, custom door panels, window net, interior is black w/ carpet. Harwood lift off hood w/zeus fasteners. This car runs 9.90 all day on just the motor, footbraking. I have only ran it with a 150shot once. Launching the car with only a 50shot and bringing in the other hundred down track the car ran in the 5.70’s at almost 125mph in the 8th on a 275 street radial. Should go quicker once you bring the nos in sooner and with another 150 to go. This current set up will easily go mid 8's in the 1/4 no problem. Car has over 50k in parts alone and I need to move it for the space. I have a 2 NOS bottles, launch controler hand unit, NOS flow gauge and a lot of other misc parts that go with it. The car needs nothing! 20k takes it all.

That's some serious gear for a dedicated track car. Makes me miss my 1990 GT. Good luck with sale.

Has the car actually made a mid 8 sec pass yet? Or are you just assuming thats what it will run given the 1/8 mile times?

Thanks for the comments guys. The car is truly a steal at this number. It is also not a 100% track car. The car has working lights and is civil enough to drive on the street some (notice the tags). You can't go far since it only has a 5gal cell.

The car has not made a full 1/4 mile pass on the bottle. It has ran a 9.0 number with me getting out of the gas way early and only running 1teens mph. I am willing to bet anyone any amount that the car will run well into the 8's on the radial.

Below is a link to a vid of the car making a motor pass on a hot August night. This is off of the footbrake as well and not the trans brake.

Sick Ride! I had a pretty well built 1993 Hatch, but it didnt run like that "91. Thats a lot of car for the money, going 8's isnt cheap.

So, in theory you could drive this car to the track if the track were, say no more than 15 miles away, yes?

Not in theory, it could do that. It's civil enough to drive on the street and all passes are made with street tires on the car. It's a ton of car for the money. If anyone has the space and cash it's a great deal.

That thing hooked up like it was velcro'd to the ground. What was your 60ft time on that?

I don't remember exactly but I know on the all motor passes it was around 1.40 range. When I sparyed the car it was in the low 1.30's. Both of those numbers are on a small 275 radial.

Fox bodies look so tough when they're done right, you did a great job. Good luck with the sale.
