TIMBERWOLF's 2007 Shelby GT500 FOR SALE
2.8 Kenne Bell / Griggs GR40SS
681 RWHP - 635 RWTQ

I am selling my gorgeous low mileage, Tungsten Gray and Satin Silver striped GT500. Presently, she has 8439 original miles and is 1 of ONLY 384 Tungsten Gray and Satin Silver striped GT500s ever made! NOTES ON THE BUILD:
When I bought this car, I was coming from a 2006 Corvette C6 Z06. I wanted to prove that the Shelby could match and supersede the Corvettes' capabilities in acceleration, and at the very least match the handling, while preserving reliability and comfort. I also wanted to preserve the stock Elenore-esque look of the car, to keep the sleeper effect.

The first series of modifications were to the suspension. Griggs answered my needs of making the car road course worthy without killing streetability, and still being strong off the line. I opted for their GR40SS kit, which radically revised and changed suspension geometry, and made the car feel confident and planted in the twisties. I could now toe heel into sweepers and power out without the fear or oversteer, or that hoppy feeling over bumps. She was also aligned by a Ferrari technician who races Shelbys and has 20 years of road course and race experience. He is also the builder of the car.

Next was power. Despite having 500 or so horse power, I felt the hefty weight was neutralizing the feeling of acceleration. The Griggs pulled some critical unsprung weight from the nether regions, but she needed more brute power. I first went with the upper pulley swap, Jon Lund off-the-shelf tune, heat exchanger, intake and Flowmaster mufflers. This setup on stock tires was good for 12.1 at 118 at Englishtown. That's faster than a Supersnake making way more power. This was a result of the amazing suspension paired with some decent power. At that point the car had made approximately 489whp and 550wtq on a Dynodynamics.

I drove the car like this for a few months, till my tuner friend was selling his stage 3 Kenne Bell Blower and peripheral mods to go full tilt and 3.6L Kenne Bell.

So in Spring of 2010, we installed the Kenne Bell 2.8 kit with a set of Ford Racing 3:73 gears and NITTO NT01 tires. Jon Lund custom tuned the car and everything came together.
In Spring of 2011, we added the ultra rare 2" American Racing Headers, X-pipe and custom 3 inch exhaust to Bassani Race Mufflers. We also swapped back to an entire rear 3:55 rear end because the factory unity was rusty looking, and the 3:73 gears matched with the NITTO tires were too aggressive and not allowing for the blower to truly stretch its legs.

Since the install, I've managed a 6.6 second run from 60 to 130 with a VBOX, but have not visited the drag strip since. I'm sure with more tries I could drop that, as well as some race fuel. I have only run pump gas, and have not ventured to a smaller pulley for more boost, as reliability is key to me.

We dynoed the car as she sits, on a Dynojet which seems to be the dynamometer of choice and the car made 681 Rear Wheel Horsepower and 635 Rear Wheel Torque. That was with 5 people inside the car, and 2 sitting in the open trunk to prevent wheel spin on the dyno! Without that extra weight she would have been in the 700+ WHP area.

As she sits, she has amazing balance, handling and traction which few Shelby GT500 owners can brag about. An SCCA race car driver friend drove her expecting messy tire spin and crappy balance, and was stunned at how drivable and predictable she was.
Naturally the acceleration is tremendous, and far superior to most supercars. The hit of torque paired with the lightweight driveshaft makes for very impressive roll ons.

Here's a quick glance at what some top supercars do from 60mph to 130mph:

6.6 - Timberwolf's GT500 *this time was achieved rolling into the throttle at 58mph and on 93 octane.
6.9 - Mosler MT900S
7.0 - Ferrari Enzo
7.3 - Porsche Carrera GT
8.6 - Corvette C6 Z06
8.9 - Mercedes SLR McLaren
9.4 - Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0
9.5 - Ferrari F430
9.6 - Ferrari F50
10.9 - Lamborghini Murcielago
11.7 - Ferrari Challenge Stradale
12.1 - Lamborghini Gallardo

REASON FOR SELLING:
Why I am selling. I never fully enjoyed the Z06 which I owned prior for under a year. I was obliged to sell in 2009 for cost reasons as my fiancee and I at the time were getting married. The Shelby was more cost effective payment wise, and just the project I needed which I could grow over time. I am excited to get back into a Z06, and would have both if I could.

Asking $37,000 OBO
This is a serious car for a serious enthusiast. No tires kickers please. All documentation and keys included. If you are serious, please email me at gvahan@yahoo.com
The car is located in Southern CT
More/high resolution photos available upon request. I will add more photos soon as well.
Thanks for looking!
