Since Eric has not chimed in yet, yes, this car can run on 91. Either turn down the boost one click, or have it dataloged and send the file to the tuner (Todd Knighten the mad Scientist). It should only cost $500 for a new tune.
Erics' car and my similarly modded GT2 pass inspection when evaluated from the OBD port (again, the Mad Scientist enables this). In Texas that is all you need to do.
Not sure if this car has cats, which you will need to pass CA emisions, which I believe requires a sniff test. 200 cels should get it done.

Thanks for getting back to me about the car. I think that this car is more than I am looking for as far as a frequently driven street car, that rarely would see track use. I have been advised to turn my search down to 996/7 Turbos...and at the furthest a GT3......
Probably is good advice.

The beauty is that you can always go to race gas , turn up the boost and make big power. These are GREAT cars, really the last pure drivers car, I thought I would be buried in mine until a business opportunity came up that I traded mine for. I do miss her.
This car is definitely a handful. I would recommend driving it on wastegates for a while, then after some seat time going to 1 bar or so (on 91).

[quote=PM me if you have anymore questions. Not sure what you are looking for - you made comments on three different cars for sale.[/quote]
Unable to PM due to membership restrictions. I certainly must seem mixed up when I ask sellers about GT2's, GT3"s as well as Turbo's...and indeed I am confused. What I really want is a really nice car at a fair price. I see a lot of cars advertised with low mileage which means to me the cars are probably not the owners primary mode of transportation. I have recently sold 4 collector vehicles and am looking to replace them with one vehicle that I will drive frequently. I have one other car (Toyota Tundra) that I can use to haul more people and gear when necessary, or when the weather is poor.
I just love the GT2, and believe that these cars are likely to see less value depreciation than many cars. I have been advised by a few other Porsche owners as well as tuners that the GT2, while being able to be driven on the street, would be less than ideal as a frequently driven street vehicle. I am guessing the GT3 RS might also be in this category, but would appreciate your thoughts. So in my process I am probably narrowing the search to a 996/7 Turbo or a GT3.
I very much look forward to owning a Porsche again as it has been 25+ years since I owned a 1974 Carrera, and I am past my American muscle car phase.

You and the seller may have more in common than you realize. He's done the american muscle car thing as well and can probably shed some light on what you would be getting into.
Eric's car is a well sorted car that could be daily driven in my opinion. I've driven it a few times and it's docile at low medium speed or when driven normally. It's as wild as you want it to be by simply applying more right foot.

I could/would drive the GT2 as a daily. The limiting factor is the luggage/cargo space. We use an '08 Z06 as our daily for this very reason.
This car on waste gates or low setting on pump gas is a lot of fun to drive around town. More than enough power to get you in trouble but much more manageable than on race gas. Car was tuned by Knighton(Protomotive) to run on MS109 @ 1.5 - very fast but, safe tune.
It is a more raw car than driving a turbo and may not be everybody's cup of tea.
Hello. Beautiful car. I was wondering if it would be possible to speak over phone re: information (suspension setup, documentation, etc). I am real person gainfully employed interested in flying to MN from FL to view car.

I seriously considered buying this beauty few months ago but since I needed a back seat I had to pass on it
I ended up purchasing a 997 TT instead which by no means is a GT2 especially something like this one.
Who ever will buy this car will be a one happy individual.

Eric
The car is about as close to perfect as a car that has 8K miles on it could be. No dings, scratches, runs great/fast, well sorted, owned by an enthusiast, and priced about the same as a stock GT2.
What's not to love?

Hirisc, thanks for feedback
I appreciate the feedback. Even though I'm thousands of miles away, I have been reading through the threads and it's obvious that the car is fantastic and that the owner is a man of integrity. I appreciate the feedback.
Have a great day!
Cheers,
Jason

It was good talking to you yesterday. Hopefully you can make your way to MN pretty soon and check it out in person.
Again, do not hesitate to call if you have anymore questions.
Eric
