It's time for me to sell my 2008 R32 and move on to an M3. I bought it a little over a year ago from a gentleman in New York who bought it new in 2008. He was moving across the country to CA to begin his new job working for Apple and decided to keep his SUV instead of the R :screwy::laugh:.

I saw it listed on another VW forum and flew out that weekend to pick it up. Although there were plenty of cars available locally, all of them seemed to have paintwork or have been in accidents. This was a clean, all original, one owner car so I jumped on a plane and picked it up.

The same is true today, although it's a 2-owner car at this point. No accidents, no paintwork, and no bodywork. It's a factory Navigation car and has not been modified in any way. Meticulously maintained, I have the full service history from the previous owner as well as myself.

Off topic but what did you get? I'm kind of curious why you were entertaining the idea of going to an MkIV R32 from this one (besides the styling advantage).

 

I bought a 2009 Hennesey Modified Cadillac CTS-V.

Regarding the MKIV R32, my father had one in 2004, sold it 6-months later, and I've missed it ever since. To me it's like a Porsche 993 vs a 996/997. It's a pure and simple drivers car, the stick shift, AWD, and VR6 combine to create a great driving experience unlike any other.

That said, if you have one car to drive daily, you'd much rather have a 996 / 997 than a 993. Just like with the Porsches, the MKV R32 is much more comfortable, rides better, is much quieter, and is better built than the 2004 was. Although the MKV is a BETTER car, if someone wanted to trade me a MKIV I would love to drive it around for a bit then keep it and make it a track car.
