From my experience with MBUSA, the person taking over your lease needs at minimum your credit score at application or better. So, they could be great, but wasn't better than you.

I hope thats not the case... but wouldnt be all that surprising if true. If he tells me what the letter says when he gets it, I will post the info back up here.

And now another credit application denied today. This is rather annoying!

Updated the original post to reflect that I have now taken care of the door ding and frayed iPhone cable, so the car is back to like new condition. Service A was just performed today as well.

Buyout price also reduced to 66.5k.

How can Tier 1 be denied???

Tier 1 should be approved regardless of credit/debt ratio.
It is automatically approved. The guy could be unemployed, he should be approved

You better look into this. because not everyone has Tier 1 credit and if Tier 1 is getting denied, there is no hope for lower scores

I was told all this when I bought my X5M. I made the deal over the phone since the dealer was pretty far. I showed up, signed and started writing a personal check. The saleperson asks if I had a certified check??!! I told him, that was impossible since he never gave me out the door price. He said they had to run my credit and I could only have the suv that day if I was approved for BMW Credit. At that time I was just laid off, so I was unemployed.
He ran it, Tier 1 and he explained that it is auto approved.

I've heard of other stories like this recently where MB is being extremely strict on transfers. One guy ran through ~3-4 different buyers before getting it approved.

Yep, I just had another guy tell me he had 9 denied applications (still counting) - although his monthly payment is nearly double mine too (different car).

Lease transfers always require waiting for the right buyer... now I guess I'm waiting for the righter buyer with phenomenal credit. Might take a bit longer I guess. In the mean time, my wife is getting fed up with us swapping cars while I do the commute (although she now says her car is not fast enough )
