Too bad the timing wasn't good for you. It's only been up for sale since September.
As someone who has actually purchased a high mileage GT3, I can only say that it amuses me how fussy some buyers are regarding the original condition of the car. Meaning, for a car like a GT3 (that is meant to be driven on track) it's funny that people want to buy pristine looking show cars, then take them on track. Obviously, it is their money and their prerogative at the end of the day.
I looked at the recent photos of this car and can see that it needs a little work to be in perfect showroom condition. However, for $73k asking price this is a dream deal meant for an enthusiast owner, perhaps someone who cannot pay the $80-$85k that so many other cars like this would command. It would not cost much money at all to address the cosmetic flaws this car currently has, and 22k miles is nothing at all for the Mezger 3.6L motor if it passes a DME scan. Take it from me, as someone who bought a high mileage GT3 that a few others passed on for mostly cosmetic reasons...I'm living my dream and very happy I bought mine.
Stick to your guns...this looks like a potentially great deal for someone!

Are you questioning the ask about the cosmetics and any previous PPIs? As a 996 GT3 owner I think it's fair to ask questions. No one's commented on the price.
My PPI inquiry would have let me see info on the car as to whether or not I'd bother getting a PPI.

If you're talking to me, absolutely not. Anyone buying any Porsche should pay for a PPI before moving forward...I highly recommend it.
My comment was directed more to the mentality that everything needs to be cosmetically perfect before buying a used GT3, but wasn't directed at you. I want people to understand that these cars are extremely solid, can take a lot of mileage, and aren't just for collectors. It's strange to see so many collectors getting them, and more enthusiasts left wishing they bought them months/years ago. I'd hate to see for more GT3s to end up off the street and not being driven and enjoyed.

Ok, I understand. I can't disagree that if you are looking for a cosmetically perfect GT3 you may best off find a new one. I just like to understand all the history--even at a good price--to make sure there's no accidents, etc. I don't mind a bit of track or road rash as long as the car is maintained.
My only criticism of this entire car would be drilling holes for a license plate when it's unnecessary.
