Looking to buy a 930 - Please help

Hi Everyone,

I am looking to add a '88-89 (preferably '89) 930 Turbo to my collection. I'm looking for a car in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition with relatively low miles. It doesn't need to be a 10K mile car that sat in someone's garage for the past 20 years, but I am looking for a beautiful example of this classic. Non-slant nose, non-cabriolet.

If any of the members here know of a car for sale, please PM me.

Also, what do you think the market price is for the car I am looking for? I've seen some ridiculous prices out there from dealers, but there's no way I would pay those excessive prices.

Thanks so much!

I just sold a 930 Turbo with RUF modifications, original owner since 87 with 50k for 40. I think it was the lowest 930 on the market, but it needed minor TLC (headlight broken, sunroof inoperable, small dent in quarter panel)

And I sold it to a dealer for 40, just so you get an idea.

The market for 930's is very strong, that said most 930's I see at dealerships are $20-30k high. An 88 will be quite a bit less money than a 89 - it was the only year for a G50 5 speed tranny and they are very highly sought after.
Good Luck,

Phil

Thanks for your input.

An '89 is definitely my preference for the reason Phil mentioned....the G50 5-speed transmission, and the last model year of the 930.

I've seen some outrageous prices for 930s, going well above $100K, in some cases asking up to $165K! These sellers are out of their mind! And the buyers and simply naive.

I found this one on eBay, looks decent but the seller has a bad reputation.

Your thoughts on this one?

There's a local, one owner, 1989 Blk/blk with 14K original miles near me but he wants $110K.

Wow, that sounds perfect, but $110K is way above my budget.

Is that car listed anywhere online? Can you PM me the listing info or the seller's contact info?

I'd be interested in seeing more details about the car.

Thanks so much!
