WTB: Porsche 996TT

Year: 2002
Make: Porsche
Model: 911
Price: $40000
Mileage: 45000
Color: n/a
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive

New to 6sp.. but have been a BMW M owner all my life looking to move into my first Pcar.

- Colors white, black, or gray - will consider silver. No yellow or red
- Must be 6sp
- mods such as wheels, suspension, exhaust, GT2 kits are a bonus. Prefer minimal engine mods
- Looking for something around 45k miles but would consider up to 60k if major maintenance items have been completed
- Pricewise in the low $40k range.
- Willing to travel within 1000 miles of Los Angeles assuming car passes PPI
- Cash buyer

This will be a weekend car so I'm not in a rush.. just looking for the right car to come along. Currently been just scouring 6speed, craigslist, cars.com, and autotrader but was hoping to buy an enthusiast owned car.

Thanks!

I've been somewhat interested in this listing but had some concerns.. wondering if anyone on the forum has seen it in person. Seems like it's been on the market longer than I expected for the list price.

https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...ded-clean.html

Car also has an aftermarket clutch. Will I be frustrated with it as a weekend car that probably won't see any track use?

How about the catless exhaust part.. is it as simple as finding a stock exhaust and bolting them onto the turbo exhaust? I'm in CA so passing smog is a big deal for me.

Other than that I'll probably try to get in touch with the owner over the weekend to get more info just wanted to do some hw prior.

Thanks!

I contacted the owner on the Pelican Parts Forums. He sent me the carfax which had an accident reported and I stopped pursuing the car at that point. I suspect many others feel the same way. In addition the front lip and sideskirts do nothing for me.

My car is barely outside your mileage, but is in great condition. Let me know if you have interest or any questions. Thanks.

i've kept coming back and looking at your ad multiple times. It's exactly what I'm looking for in terms of mods done and price point.. unfortunately you're kinda far.

I got a quote for shipping and came out to around $1500 so will probably keep looking for the time being.

yep i pulled the carfax on it and decided to pass as well.. the search continues..

This car is also exactly what I'm looking for except its all the way in Chicago. Shipping quote of $1600 no longer made it worth it unfortunately.

It looks like you are quoting enclosed transport prices above which may be holding you back. Some people on here swear by enclosed but I have shipped multiple 40-50k cars in the last 2 years on an open trailer across the country with no problem and have other friends who do the same. I shipped from Oregon to NJ for 850 just 6 months ago and I ask to be first or second car behind the cab....this may pursuade you to expand the radius a little.
either way good luck finding a car.
