Help on 97 993 Value
Sorry, I originally posted this thread in the 993 section, but didn't realize that there isn't as much traffic over there. I could really use some advice on this. Thanks!

Forget about KBB when it comes to 993 pricing, they are normally 5-10k under the going prices. Sounds like a nice car, price may be a tad high. I recommend that you go over to rennlist where there is a very large group of 993 owners that will chime in. Nice 993's are in demand and prices are pretty stable. Good luck.
Hi there,
As RSS said, 993's are one of a few cars that price "out of book" basically they're the last of the aircooled cars from Porsche, and consequently have become quite collectable.
Are you considering a C2 or C2S? Also, is it stick or auto, and what color is it?
Is the car pretty perfect or flawed cosmetically?
Jeremy

Edited because I am an idiot and didn't realize the car is actually a C4S!

From what I have seen, and I am currently actively looking for a 993, this price seems ok, even considering your location. If you want to pm me, I have a few leads on cars near you.

Ok, I am an idiot and didn't realize until after carefully looking at the ad that the 993 I am looking at tomorrow is actually a C4S! Oops. Maybe that explains the higher price??!!! Thanks everyone!

I'd say that's really closer to being a 42k ish car given the broken sunroof, and the fact that it is a 4S and not a 2S (which is the big 993 collectable car).
I wouldnt walk away at 45k, but I would try to get him down to 42 or 43ish, and perhaps call Porsche to find out about the sunroof pricing.
Hope that helps, Jeremy.
