I just bought the Garmin Nuvi 350 and I think it is great. I use it as an mp3 player through my system. Highly recommended.

Kenwood and Eclipse are excellent units. Both have touch screen. Eclipse is easier to install w DVD, CD drives all built into the HU. BT add on can be added for extra $$. Not sure about ipod interface.

The new Pioneer AVIC-Z1 is awesome -- 7" inch touch screen, 30GB hard drive, plays DVD movie...it has just about everything one would need. Check it out.

newport996,

How does the Kenwood unit look at night? Does it match your cluster lighting?

Looks great!

I think it was about $1100 for the head unit....the Nav unit is about $700, the iPod interface which allows touchscreen control from the screen and direct audio input is $99, Sirius tuner is $99 and is also controlled from the head unit completely. The new NAV unit is flash based, not DVD based and is VERY fast as well it has the new feature that allows actual pictures of your destination to be displayed, not just maps....There are about 3 different Kenwood head units....Mine is the DDX-7015, which was replaced by the DDX-7017, and there is also teh DDX-8017, and the DDX-6019.

NEITHER!!!! Those are the old DVD based ones....The new one is the KNA-G510...It has maps loaded in memory and it is updated via SD card. It is about $600 street price vs. $1100 of the older ones and it has 2d/3d maps PLUS traffic capabilities so it shows traffic conditions as well as navigation....Thats the one to get. I would get the DDX 7017, the 8017 has surround sound and thats not an interest I have....
