Whoever was looking for a white 996TT... 2k miles!
I'm so pist off right now it is unbelievable. The guy (Michael) sold the car out from under me for more money. I have suspicions that it is someone who learned of the car off here, but not positive--guess I should have been more discrete and not posted so much info on here!
DAMN!! The killer is I even callled Michael yesterday and asked him he would close the auction or if I should click on the buy it now and he said he said nobody is going to click the BIN without contacting him first and guaranteed me the car was mine. I even had everything arranged with the GM Tony at the dealer and he was supposed to call me back to get my credit card info as he was too busy at the time with a customer!
Anyone know who maddie22 is? That's who bid on it.

Live and learn- it was suspicious that he didn't cancel the auction after he agreed to your deal. He could have reinstated without cost if the deal fell through so I bet he was trolling for a better deal. I know you don't want to hear this but his BIN was a damn good price and someone was bound to guzzump you.

Sorry to hear what happened.
To play devils advocate for a sec - you really don't have a legally enforceable right to the vehicle until you actually give him some consideration - i.e. a deposit. Even then you probably can't force him to sell it to you - he could return the deposit and sell it to another.
From his perspective, all he had was your word that you were going to buy it - you could have also backed out at any time...
That's not to say that it's not a crappy way to do business - only that a quick note (even an email) and a cash deposit (paypal) is the way to really secure a vehicle.
Don't worry - you'll find another - and it'll probably be a better car.
The hunt is half the fun!

Personally, i thought about contacting the guy about the car, but once i read through the thread and saw that you were working with them, I just let it go. It's kind of a low thing to do to someone in a community like this! I have yet to loose the full 30lbs required of me by my wife anyway lol

I thought about just clicking the buy-it-now, but didn't want to be under contract for the wrong amount. I guess what it comes down to is after an hour on the phone and him telling me not to worry--In the end his word was only worth $1500.
If the car was as represented, come hell or high water, I would have paid him and have closed many real estate and car purchases the same way in minutes over the phone. Guess I should be thankful I don't run into more people that have such a low value for their word and verbal agreements!
