Holy crap! buy the 999R!!!!!!!!!!!! I have seen the R in person, I would take it every day of the week and twice on Sunday's over the 1098. Handmade and dripping with carbon fiber. Maybe I'm stupid though.

Strangely, not particularly fond of the Xerox edition, but you likely wouldn't ride around with the stock bodywork on much anyway at a 10k replacement cost.

what are the major differences with the base and "s" model besides cf body?

 

1098:

• Showa Suspension
• Showa Steering Dampener
• Cast Marchesini Rims

1098s:

• Ohlins Suspension
• Ohlins Steering Dampner
• Forged Marchesini Rims (Lighter)
• Carbon Fiber Front End

Same Engine for both machines.

If you were to add up the retail value of the wheels and ohlins alone they would just about double what the price difference is between the S and base. Plus it has lower production number so its a little cooler
