You might want to re-think your decision. For $136 you can buy a brand new 997 shifter from Sunset Porsche. Not quite as short as SSK but much smoother and more precise. Good luck whichever way you go'

+1 Pleased with mine- Install is a virtual bolt in (no disassembly/destruction of the stock unit to replace the shift arm alone) The 997 assembly also seemed to have beefier plastic bearings (the stock 996 has pretty light duty plastic cups).

I picked up a 'take off' from a 997 for $110 shipped. I figured it was a no brainer if I didn't like it. But I do.
