FS: Valentine One Radar/Laser Detector

I'm selling my Valentine One detector. It's the latest version, 1.8 but doesn't have POP. It comes with suction cup mount(suction cups need to be replaced soon), visor mount, hard wire kit and original box. $300 shipped.

I bought mine 3 years ago and it has POP. How can it be the latest, but no POP?

Anyway, I need another and would be interested if it is really the latest.

Say what?

He was selling the 'latest version, but no pop'

I bought mine 3 years ago, version 1.8 and it has POP

How can his be the latest version but no pop??? Perhaps an old unit, upgraded to new code? Or pop is broken? Or maybe I am wrong and the newer versions have eliminated POP...

Whatever, it is apparently sold.

Some 1.8 units had POP, some did not. He said that his was the newest version without POP. Fairly straight forward I thought.

The "latest" models have POP, older versions are non pop. Each can have V1.8 software... but the latest version V1 would be have POP.

(Not getting into a discussion of the needs or benefits for POP, but I am pretty sure a non-POP unit is a few years old at least.)

FYI- Anyone looking, give them a call and ask for a demo unit and save 10%.

He probably inputted his serial number on V1's upgrade page and got this message:

Serial Number XXXXXXXXXX

V1 Description: Radar circuitry known in-house as V1.8. This is our latest and best performer on both radar and laser with just one exception—it lacks POP Protection. Of interest to those who drive in Europe, the latest V1 version also has a Euro Mode.

Upgrade Recommendation: You have a sophisticated security system, and we’re cautious about recommending an Upgrade. If you believe in keeping up with technology, particularly if the POP Mode is being used in your area, then go ahead. V1’s approach to the POP problem is superior to all others in the industry. If you drive in Europe, you will appreciate our new Euro Mode which improves protection on photo radar as it is used in the E.U.
