i think you have to buy a new centering ring for the 997 steering wheel, coz the airbag on the 997 should be 2 stage airbag system, so the plug for the airbag is different, the rest should be the same. the ring cost around 550 plus tax.
or the cheapest way is to take the connecter out from the 997 airbag and solder the 996 connecter on it then it's plug and play. but then your airbag become 1 stage airbag.

 

Ill take it if it fits the 997 turbo wheel.
