WTB: coilovers or springs for 997 (and 996)
I have a set of H&R springs for 997 05+ for PASM if anyone is interested.
Yes, there is likely an error here. This is almost certainly an offer for the Bilstein's fit for a non-PASM car. The PASM-compatibile (aka Damptronics) have no 9 or 10 way click adjustments. That's what the PASM system does instead. Automagically.
BTW, for the original poster (OP) who was in search of just the springs, I'm of two minds here. From a performance, feel, handling perspective, I don't think there's any comparison between short springs versus a set of Damptronics CO's.
OTOH, not everyone cares that much, uses the car in that mode, or has the feel to notice the differerce. Moreover, the Damptronics may yield a significant reduction in ride comfort. Citing the poster, he/she was interested in the mod to achieve a drop of 1". If that's what is wanted, and significant handling improvements in the car is not of interest, then save a boatload of money and go for the springs. And you may save a few rattles and shakes too (though I'm less certain about this aspect with respect to the cut-down springs).
I'm not sure if I sound like a snob, or an anti-snob, but IMHO, some mods go wasted when the buyer doesn't really want/need/sense the upgraded capabilities. And, to be fair, mods don't always yield an upgrade in the classic sense of improved performance. 20" wheels for example, likely downgrade (or sidegrade) the handling performance, but create beauty in the eye of the beholder.
So, to the OP, be sure you know what you want with this (or any) mod. Don't waste your money or feel pressured to purchase the crowd-approved item.
