I need a rearview mirror for my 996 C4S.

I tried ebay but all I could find were older rearview mirrors for old 911s and some boxters. Anyone have a rearview "auto dim" mirror laying around they'd sell? If not, know where to get one asides from the dealership?

I work at the Porsche dealership so I can get one at cost but it's still pricey. I figure if I can get a used one then i'll go with that, otherwise i'll have to buy new.

Long story short, I was getting it detailed today at the Porsche dealership I work at. Well one of my buddies who works there did the interior and accidentally broke the balljoint swivel mount on the back of it.... He wants to pay me whatever it costs to get it fixed but I really feel bad having him pay $330 for something that was an accident... And he needs that money pretty bad. We didn't report it cause I don't want him to be at risk of being fired cause he "broke" something. So I'm just looking for a good way to replace it for cheap and then i'll figure out the cost with him, but it's just not fair to make him pay for it all. I couldn't do that in good conscience.

However, I can get parts at 10% over "cost" so that usually saves me $100-200 on the price of what it'd cost a non-employee. So I'll see what I can get it for if I use my employee discount.

you best bet would be to get it at Cost from your Dealer... Autodimming Mirror is very Rare Option...

 

I've got one in a 996 i'm parting out, you still need it?

 

Can the mirror portion be taken off the broken mount and then used to replace my mirror on my existing mount? Would rewiring it be an issue? And to confirm, yours is a self-dimming mirror, correct?

 

I have one in a box excellent condition.
