GTSilver997 is infamous around these parts
I remember reading somewhere that those who have switched out for AWE cats mated with stock mufflers and stock headers resulted in "raspiness" in sound? Any truth to that? I'm interested, but would like to know whether to factor in the cost for headers...and if so, which brand?

according to reliable sources, that only happens if you have the very early 997's ie 2005 models. the mufflers on the 997.1 have changed 3 and some say 4 times.

the later mufflers and awe cats OR awe cats and any header = sexy sounds.

I did some research and the AWE cats alone will probably sound bad with my 2005 stock mufflers. This is giving me an itch that won't go away. I guess my car will remain stock for a while.

I have stock PSE mufflers and EVO headers with these Cats and it sounds awesome, loud enough to hear shift points, but quiet enough to get by some of the toughest sound level requirements.
