if it came from a turbo, why doesn't have the turbo in the center of the tach?
not all of them had "turbo" on the tach.
I'm 100000% sure this is from a turbo - because it came from my 996TT.
I also have a different turbo cluster that doesn't have turbo on the cluster.
i was under the impression that a cluster can only be programmed once and only to the specific car therefore making it pretty much useless?

The mileage cannot be adjusted unless the cluster is new and IIRC, the mileage adjustment of a new cluster has to be done by a dealer.
Instrument Cluster
Jason is correct. I just swapped in an identical unit .. silver faced 996tt cluster and it is plug and play .... takes approximately 30 minutes or less. It also did not have the "Turbo" legend on the face of the tach.
Not sure if it will work. I'm sure it will fit and plug in.....
My guess is that it would need to be reprogrammed.
For example, a regular non-turbo cluster from a coupe works fine in a cab but the cab light doesn't work until the cluster is told it's in a cab.
Same cluster, different programming in there.
I'm not sure how to do it or who can do it but I think it can be done.
And yes, the cluster is still available.
