Marketplace Forums

The Marketplace Forums are available to contributing members and sponsors of 6speedonline. It offers a place for members to buy and sell occasional personal items and for vendors to sell their products. The Marketplace Forums are not intended as a venue for a non sponsoring commercial business to sell their products. If you would like to be a vendor, please contact Internet Brands at (888)879-0146. To keep the general forums clear from advertisements, items for sale should be limited to the Marketplace Forums only.

To search only vendors, change your search parameters and choose from "Private" or "Vendor Listing." If you believe there is a fraudulent transaction in process, or have serious concerns about a post, please report the post to the moderators by clicking on "report post."

Moderators reserve the right to take action and edit threads at any time. Repeated violations of these rules will result in either a temporary or permanent ban. The rules for the Marketplace will be strictly enforced.

Here are the guidelines. Enjoy the forums, and good luck with your sale.

Do...

...post an asking price in your sale thread (this is mandatory), and fill the query boxes as completely as possible. Despite what the input says zero is not considered an asking price. It is ok to enter zero for a want to buy.
All items for sale (members and sponsors) require a price to be listed. No exceptions. If you list a price in the title, you will not be able to change it.

...post appropriate positive comments.
Keep in mind, listed items are part of an member's advertisement...negative comments may detract from a member's ability to sell their item.

...include actual photographs.
Actual photographs (not internet picture grabs or vendor images) are mandatory for every item being sold in this forum.

...report irregularities or problems on the forum to a moderator.

...before posting a group buy members must submit the group buy to a moderator to obtain admin approval.


Do not...

...sell firearms or ammunition. No exceptions

...post sale threads on forums outside the Marketplace or Watches section.
To keep the general forums free from commerce traffic, refrain from posting items for sale in sections outside the Markplace or Watches section. All "want to buy" and "for sale" threads will be deleted from the general forums. No exceptions.

...post sale threads for friends or relatives without prior moderator approval.

...comment about price in someone else's thread or hijack a thread by going off topic.
If you would like to negotiate the price, do it via PM. Do not comment about the price being too high. Do not make negative remarks or inflammatory comments about items that are for sale.

...piggy back your own sale or WTB on someone else's thread.
Create your own thread. Do not hijack someone else's thread with your own items.

...bump your thread unless there have been a minimum of 7 days with no activity.

...specific to the Watches forum, watches for sale by members must be "like new in box" not new.

6speed allows all members to participate in a enthusiastic forum. As such, please post and comment respectfully to fellow members. This applies to both vendor/sponsors and members alike. We invite and encourage a healthy exchange of opinions; disagreements are okay. While you may challenge another member's position with a dissenting opinion, name-calling, insults, "flaming" and attacks are not appropriate and will not be tolerated. Post commentary respectfully...harassing, offensive, vulgar, abusive, hateful or bashing communications, especially those aimed at sexual orientation, gender, race, color, religious or political views, national origin, or disability, will not be permitted. Such actions will be sanctioned by the moderators.

Although the administrators and moderators will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. Non Supporting Vendor
Non supporting vendors may use 6speed as a member, but are restricted from advertising or promoting any companies, products or services in any way. The use of logos, images, active links, or any other means to advertise promote or obtain potential business while participating on the message board will not be allowed. This includes, but is not limited to, all posts and threads, signatures or user names, profiles, or messaging systems (private or public.)

Sale of Items
Please be advised that members need 30 posts and one month of membership before placing items for sale. No "want to buy" threads or items for sale may be posted outside of the Marketplace.

Please note, these rules apply to all marketplace forums as well as the watches section.

Posting Links and Photos
While links to useful information is encouraged, we ask that embedded links to other blogs, forums, or non sponsored websites be broken. You can do so by unclicking "automatically parse links in text" to prevent active embedding. If your only contribution to the board consists of links to your youtube videos, your posts will be removed and your account will be sanctioned.

There have been many changes to the photograph policy on this website. We have opened up all the forums to all photographs, including those with watermarks, with the following exception. If it is obvious that your photograph watermarks are intended to promote a non sponsoring commercial business, another forum, or they are a URL for a point of sale the images will be removed.

Registration of Multiple Accounts
Members may register one account. You may not share accounts with others. If you wish to change your user name, you may do so once by contacting the moderators. Those members who create multiple accounts will have all accounts banned, and IP addresses potentially block.

Member/Vendor Disputes
Many of the best Porsche tuners and vendors are available through 6speedonline. Those members who have an active dispute with a vendor are strongly encouraged to take the matter up and exhaust all options before bringing it online to the forum. Flame threads are largely disruptive, and will be closed until both sides can come to a resolution.

Group Buys
Oftentimes, a particular item may generate interest for a group buy. Please contact a moderator to seek approval prior to posting a group buy.

Banned Users
In the event your account has been banned by 6speed moderators, you may return once the duration of the ban has expired. Any member that re-registers during a ban period will be permanently ban.

Member Privacy
As a forum member, you agree not to collect e-mail addresses or post personal information about people. You also agree not to insult or molest other members via private messages or e-mail. Lastly, you agree not to include or embed in any post any applet, script, object, application, or code of any kind that captures, copies, or collects information.

Rules for Vendors
Vendors, please post advertisements for products in the classified sections in either the Porsche forums or in the Marketplace. We encourage all vendors to participate in general threads. You have a wealth of information and experience...please share. If you have new products or announcements, or simply wish to participate in general discussions, feel free to post in the general open forums.

Please refrain from direct confrontation with other vendors. Posts that incite vendor wars, solicit customers in competing vendor's threads, or piggyback advertisements for non sponsoring vendors will be removed.

 

A friendly reminder, all items listed in this forum require a price to be listed. If you would like to negotiate a price, please do so by PM. Prices are required to prevent auctioning items to "the highest bidder" and playing one member against another...if you would like to sell by these tactics, please chose eBay or other auctioning sites. Think of this forum as a local swap meet among enthusiasts and friends.

Please note, 6speedonline supports the sale and transaction between enthusiasts. However, if you use 6speed as an extension of your private business, soliciting sales and transactions, you are in violation of forum rules.

Clarification on asking price.

Prices listed on 6speed should reflect what you want to receive or pay for an item. We do not condone auctioning...specifically pitting one member against another for the "highest price."

When you list a price on 6speed, please make sure this is the price you expect to receive.

 

After reviewing the poll last month, there was an overwhelming consensus among members who participated that 6speed implement a mandatory photo policy for items for sale.

Effective this weekend, photographs will be mandatory for every item being sold in this forum.

The photo can not be a stock photo, or a photo used from a vendor or the internet. It must be taken by the selling party, and must include the item, and ideally, it should include a piece of paper with the seller's user name and date of the photo.

While some members had objections to this policy, the overwhelming number of members here voted for the change in policy. Nearly every case of fraud in the last 18 months has come from a seller who fails to ship an item - in each case there was no photo.

For those items posted before this weekend, we ask that members be compliant and add photos, although they will be exempt from the new regulations. Buyer beware.

Sponsoring vendors may post as per routine and are exempt from this policy.

Please be courteous to your fellow members, and refrain from bumping more than once a week. Members who have interest will find you, and there is no need to see your post on the top constantly. Excessive bumps will be removed.

 

Effective immediately, posting requirements have been lifted. Members are free to post to this forum regardless of membership length or number of posts.

Buyers should be always aware of members who have not established themselves with any reputation.

 

Members please post images of what you are selling. I have had to message a few of you as to the Guidelines and see that this is an ongoing issue. It will save so much more time and frustration if you all would post the image when posting the ad.
