Help adding inline Bosch 044 Fuel Pump.

I am looking to add an inline 044 pump instead of the fuel filter in the same location. Does anyone know what fittings I need to do this? I am owrried about the plastic line on the fuel filter.

Here is what I found so far:

Pump intake is M18x1.5
Pump out (pressure side) M12x1.5

Filter is M14x1.5 on one side and a weird plastic hose on another side.

Has anyone done this DIY?

Looks like a bonjo from the filter to the rail. Is that a rubber line going to the rail?

Yes it is. Don't use a hard 90 on the pump outlet, several people have pointed out the cavitation problems, and restriction caused by those. I am going to change it out this winter.

Banjo = bad. Use a smooth radius fitting.

..... AND PUT A LOW FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR IN.........

If the fuse blows / 044 fails you will be pushing thru a huge restriction, and not have any way of knowing while you are driving.

I talked to him. I'd buy it if it wasnt a 1000$

I am also considering doing a GT2/GT3 intank pump because it would be easier. Part number is 996-620-057-92

is the gt2 a single intank sump? if so i doubt it will be enough to move the amount of fuel you will need for big boost and turbos.

imo spend the money and get markskis kit, trying to nickle and dime when you have a prosche at the end you will end up spending much more . and you can also save your self frustrations. Also you get markskis tech support , which that alone is worth the money.

thats because I dont use cheap rubber hoses nor cheap Russell fittings and adaptors... I relocate it elsewhere- ... I cut solder, and make the relay with wires ready to go... the bracket is handmade too..
It doesn't require the engine down just a lift... the easier I make it for the installer the less money you spend on labor... in the end you win...
thats my business model...
good luck
markski

If it wasn't for the time constraints I would definetly make my own kit but I have to have this done rather quickly so I think I will give this kit and Markski a shot and see what the hype is about. Saving money isn't always the priority.
