Notice that there was no Porsche involved.
And that in Germany you can drive 300 km/h legally on the freeway.

Since when are "asian" kids associated with Tokyo drift? Isn't that general and ignorant statement? Why not just say a bunch of spoiled rich kids?

Man, I couldn't imagine driving one of those cars as a teenager. When I was 16 I thought my 88 Mustang GT was "fast" lol.

So each got a ticket under 200 bucks... and that was it. The sensationalist headline of the article makes it seem like it was a bigger deal.

Speaking of "baller" - the article mentions that not very many of the kids seemed upset, going on to mention that one of them wanted to arrange an additional tow of the vehicle to his home from the impound lot. "Hey, while you're at it, why don't you just tow it back to my house and bill me." LOL.

I have a feeling they would've been a little more disturbed if it'd ended up like this guy (also from the article):

Last fall, a $235,000 Ferrari impounded after a street race that reached speeds of 200 km/h was forfeited under the Civil Forfeiture Act, which gives the province authority to seize vehicles and sell them if a civil court rules unlawful activity—such as impaired driving or street racing—could have caused severe injury or death.
Risk of forfeiture of property, at a court's discretion, would reshape behavior... one would think.

Honestly, I don't know about that. If the parents have enough money to allow these kids to have such expensive vehicles, it is highly likely even seizing the car and selling it would be a drop in the bucket. In fact, the parents probably have enough influence and resources financially to block such a maneuver in the first place. The fact that they were not fazed tells me money is not an issue for them and they are not scared because they are kids who don't understand the long-term consequences or even care for that matter.

Unfortunately, there were no Porsche's because its probably considered like a Toyota Camry in their eyes. LOL!

Mine was a crappy 82 VW Jetta handed down from my mom. I was just happy to have a car at that time! LOL!

It also doesnt sound like it was racing in the first place to behonest with you. It sounds like a meet and cruise simialr to NYC midnight run etc. Ofcourse with some fun and speeding on the cruise, called in by some haters. Quiet a list of cars they had though...

There is a lot of serious money flowing into Vancouver. You should see the increase in upper end home prices. No surprise that the kids are driving $100k+ cars.
