Hey guys,

I bought my car with some amazing 997 GT3RS seats and have been nothing but incredibly happy with the look, quality, feel and really everything about them. My only oversight was that I was under the impression they were very light, which turns out to be slightly false. I guess I can't have everything in a seat!

So this brings me to a decision. Do I keep the seats I've been extremely happy with (hell I drove 2700 miles across the country in these in just over 2 days) or do I look for a replacement that suite's my weight reduction desires better.

I would be most interested in trading these seats, which appear to be quite expensive, for something much lighter, preferably carbon backed w/ alcantara. Fixed back is fine but my taste leans towards something like the CGT seat.

If anyone would be interested in trading, I would be open to offers, obviously a non-porsche seat would require some cash on top of your seats. But lets see what options are out there!

Any advice on what seats may satisfy my needs would also be appreciated!

Thanks,
Nick

VTach is infamous around these parts
I'm guessing these are the GT2 style seats with the side thorax airbag? I thought those were light compared to others. What is your target weight per seat? Can you post pics please?

Interested in brand new condition Status Racing Ring GT seats in Alcantara and Carbon? I've got a pair with about 100 miles of use.

I'm getting a lot of requests for pictures, so here are a few. The seats are in excellent condition, no flaws that I have seen.

That's the same seat I have in my GTS. They periodically come up for sale on here. I think it is one of Porsces more comfortable seats.

Apparently these seats were used quite generously through out some different trim lines. Still one of the most comfortable and supportive seats I've ever sat in. This would be an ideal swap for anyone who is looking for a very comfortable, supportive, and safe OEM swap. I'm looking for something that is more like the Euro spec GT2 carbon seat. Less comfort, less weight, too much support, but with OEM look.

Bump, if your current seats don't make you love driving your Porsche due to lack of comfort these will solve your problem, and trading me will solve mine

Zookie: As stated, these came out of a 997 GT3RS or so I was told. Could you enlighten me on what the adaptive option is and how I could determine if they had it?

As for what Adaptive Sport Seats (***), scroll down to the 3rd post and it is the seat in the middle.

IMO, those seats are worth $1500, a little more if someone really wants them.

Thank you for your input. I've heard different prices, but am not looking to sell these as I don't have replacement seats. I'm more interested in a trade as of now, 996 GT3 seats look to be the best comparable trade, but I'd be willing to pony up the extra $ if the more desirable GT2/CGT/GT3 Carbon become available.
