I have a 996TT and found this exhaust on ebay advertised that it came off my model. I was having it installed when my exhaust shop told me it was for the 997TT not the 996. It won't fit without hacking it up and I don't want to do that to this nice exhaust.

It is built by Sportec, the very high end tuner in Switzerland. The full system costs about $10k USD new. This particular one comes without cats so you can either add them or have catless pipes fabricated.

The exhaust is super clean. I don't know it's history but it has to have less than 5K miles on it. My exhaust guy was impressed. It is a valved x-pipe system. On each side one of the exhaust pipes coming out of the muffler has an internal flap that is vacum activated. The default position is open, meaning the louder version. I was going to run it that way and leave the electronics out even though I have them for a 996. The 996 electronics probably aren't compatible with the 997 unless you bypass the DME. Who would want the DME cutting out the sound automatically anyway though?

I'll include the wiring and components at no charge if you want it.

Even if you decide to get cats this is a smoking deal. If it would have fit my car the installation would have been under $500.

How do you like your new exhaust?

 

I just picked the car up. Crappy day out there so I couldn't push it, but it sounds great! 3" piping all around, cross flow design, 100 cell race cats, two small mufflers. I was worried about drone, but so far there isn't any as far as I can tell. Benchmade Proper in Elkridge. Let me know if you want to hear it sometime.
