I have one on my 996 GT3 simply one of the best shift ***** I have ever used. It actually requires no modification. All you have to do is remove the shift **** from the 997 boot and reattach it to the 996 boot in the same fashion.

How is the Alcantara wearing? I've seen some used ones that show signs of wear., but could be user-error (or someone tried to clean them incorrectly)

I'll get more close up pics but the alcantara seems to be in very good condition. The worn ones I've seen usually have lost their texture and you can see shiny spots in the alcantara.
