I did this exact upgrade. Well worth it. The throw isn't too short, but feels very precise.

The throw is much less than the standard shifter but a tad longer than the 997 SSK. I'd say maybe 3/4" fore & aft longer than the SSK. I've had both and settled on the GT3 shifter due to the metal bushings and and much smoother, less notchy feel when shifting. The perfect upgrade! YMMV

The listing clearly stated that "I have the chance to secure a quantity of 15 each 997 GT3 shifters. They are NOT all in hand, and I must have the majority/heavy interest to launch the sale."

It did not say that they are available now and use the link provided to purchase. I asked for an email, waited and didnt get one. Maybe I didnt understand, regardless I didnt get a reply, i had money in hand that was burining a hole in my pocket, so I bought another product.

If you get anxious when you shift, you risk bending the shift forks..

Put another way, if you speed shift the 997SSK or ANY SSK you risk a tranny
rebuild.. SEEN IT, DONE IT BEEN THERE..

If you can bench press over 250 lbs and are HAM fisted, you will shorten the
life of your gearbox. It will manifest into 2nd and/or 3rd gear popping out.

If you want SAFE go with the GT3.. If you want to take a risk go with the
SSK. I also feel that the 997SSK is more notchy shifting across the GATE..
right on.
