I have these and they are excellent coilovers. Only ones produced for our cars that will do -3 front camber without any extra's!

Car handles like on rails, rides nice as well - great for track or street! These also have adjustable collars so you are not adjusting the spring for height adjustments - keeps you off the bump stops at lower settings! These are also one-way adjustable for shock performance.

Clean them up and enjoy for sure! Good luck with sale! I have had mine for a few years and very pleased! Someone will get a good deal for sure!

 

Do they seem to be in good functional condition? In need of rebuild or anything?

 

Are you sure they work on a 996TT? Any idea to tell what spring rates are on it?

 

I would also like to know how good of condition they are in and confirmation on fitment.

 

why not keep them and simply change out the springs? im changing the springs on my jrz coilovers and the cost is less than 250$ shipped

I did some searching on our forum about the feedback on these coilovers and it seems they shouldnt be this harsh, really harsh when i hit a bump in the road it feels like i bottom out, more in the rear.

So i contacted JIC to find out if their was an adjustment for the rears. He said no.

He suggested to send them in to have them rebuilt. Quoted $200 per front and $150 per rear. not bad i thought, but im in Ontario Canada. That means 10-14 days of no suspension.. leaving my new (to me) Porsche at a mechanics shop for that long scares me.

Any thoughts?

**EDIT** The price quoted is for sending in the dampers ONLYand they will "re-valve".

The only experience i've had riding on a sport suspension prior to this is in my 03' s2000. I had installed Swift spec R lowering springs on it. I loved the ride. Spring rates were 7.5kg front and 7kg rear.

 

There are adjustments on both front and rear. Rear adjusters are on top of the strut. So if you have a subwoofer back there - it has to come out and then some carpeted foam and you can adjust those suckers down to soft!

Fronts are on the bottom of the strut - can do it with wheels on I think, but a pain for sure!

 

You may also want to get the car to a good race shop that knows how to setup the ride height, corner balance, etc. It may just be that some jug head installer just didn't put them on right and cranked up the rear spring tension or something. Mine rides really good and smooth. Corner balance was money well spent!

 

Thanks for the helpful tips. I will be removing the subwoofer to try the adjustment toward the end of the week! Just by looking at some other members pics and comparing to mine, the springs on mine look alot shorter and sit higher up the damper.

I realize this is a for sale ad but this is good info for a potential buyer!

That may be the case - your helper springs look a lot more compressed as well. I bet if you get them properly setup, you will love them!

UPDATE & new pics bump:

Brought the c4s to a local mechanic shop, put the car on a hoist, adjusted the front dampers, rides much smoother now.

I will need new rear end linkage parts plus their are helm joints currently on the car with 315 tires!
