I have a new Aston Martin Vantage N420 carbon diffuser for sale that I never got to use. Note that this is the genuine OEM part and not some aftermarket deal. Other than the genuine labels, you can tell them apart because most aftermarket diffusers (mostly made in China) are much thinner and quite flimsy since they use much less layers of carbon in order to cut costs. Also, the OEM part has a beautiful detail where the weave of the carbon fabric meets in a perfect seam down the center of the part to create a beautiful symmetrical pattern. If you have ever seen a Koenigsegg up close, you may have seen this. You won’t find this on most aftermarket parts.

As you can see from the attached image, the price of the part once the shipping, import duty and currency conversion is factored in is close to $3,000US. Aston Martin usually sells this diffuser as part of a “kit” that also includes a thin carbon splitter for the front of the car. This splitter is not as desirable because it is barely visible and is in a very vulnerable part of the car where it can easily scrape or crack when driving up a driveway or speed bump, etc. Unfortunately, Aston does not usually sell the parts individually and the kit is over $4,000US. So if you want to get the genuine diffuser from a dealer, you usually get stuck having to buy the splitter as well.

Installing the diffuser is probably best left to a professional unless you feel very comfortable with automotive body work. It entails removing the existing lower airfoil and screen meshes, parking sensors, rear taillights, rear wheel well liners, and rear bumper and wiring harness. The bumper is held in place by many bolts including a few that are hidden inside the taillight buckets and inside the hatch/trunk sides. Ten holes have to be drilled into the lower bumper edge so they align with the corresponding holes in the diffuser which is then attached using nuts, bolts and washers (not included). After moving the parking sensors over, everything gets replaced back on the car. The bumper is a big, floppy cumbersome piece that probably requires two individuals to move/lift. Like I said, you might want to consider a pro or (preferably) your dealer’s service department to do this.

The diffuser comes with the oil cooler hexagonal metal mesh and fastening nuts included. It is packaged in a large box (12x12x50 in.) which is light but bulky. Shipping charges are extra and vary depending on destination (obviously). Estimated shipping from Florida to California is approximately $70 and $40 to New York.
