Front Rotors: 350mm Diameter x 34mm thick

Condition: These were removed off of a wrecked Porsche and before I received them, they were chipped up in several places which most are highlighted in yellow. Chipped rotors are still very usable but please keep in mind we are not responsible for any use of them.


Please check the part numbers with a dealer before purchasing. we are not responsible for fitment issues. I believe these may fit the following applications depending on what brake calipers you run on the car. They are quite interchangeable with several different Porsche models so please double check before purchasing. Some people will be able to swap these out with the current Porsche Rotors and others may elect to swap to other Porsche calipers to make them work for your application but this is a cheap deal for someone.

Sorry, to say, but those rotors are unusable in my opinion. The Porsche Tech manual says:

"The following criteria applies to edge damage assessment:
· Max. permissible width/depth = 2 mm!
· Max. permissible length = 10 mm!
· Max. 3 damaged edge areas permissible!"

Some of your areas look to be larger than 10mm and some of the discs have more than 3 defects, not all of which are marked in yellow. You might find someone willing to gamble on them and their safety, but I'd never put them on one of my cars and I think you'd be lucky to get $500-$1,000 for the set.

Whoever was changing the wheels on the car where those were installed, obviously didn't use the two "wheel mounting guide bolts: that screw into the lug bolt holes and allow the wheel to slide off without falling onto the caliper. That tool is here and Porsche requires two of them be used when working on PCCB brakes to preven the wheel from spinning on one and still contacting the rotor.

It's too bad as I was looking for a set in this price range to put on a shelf "just in case" and your part #s are the correct ones for what's on my C2S currently.

 

I was going to stay out of this one but I have to agree.

ALSO, if you have PCCBs: If you haven't already, check your tool kit to be sure there are 2 of the guide bolts. More than a few PCCB cars only came with 1 and you really need 2.

FYI: PCCB surfaces should feel as "smooth as a new baby's ***". Even the slightest surface irregularity or roughness means they are starting to deteriorate and will not last for long.

AND last: These are NOT correct for the 997 models.

 

Actually, they are. The 2005 cars came with these 350mm & 350mm versions of the PCCB Brakes which were a carryover from the 996 generation. They were factory supplied on my 2005 C2S according to the COA from Porsche and I believe they were also on the series of black over black launch cars.

I was going to stay out of this too, but with a safety issue on the line, thought it prodent to post. This way anyone who decides they might want to buy them at least have the correct information from which to make a decision.

 

I learn something new each day! OK. Let's just say that these are NOT proper on the 997 GT3/TT/GT2 models. ;-> [It sure makes me yearn for the days when all you had to remember was 911-L-T-E-S.. and throw in the 912s.]

 

Correct. I believe those are 380mm fronts and have 997 part #s.

 

Thanks for the comments guys. I'm willing to make a deal on them. By all means, nothing would happen if they were too many chips. Short of a rotor falling apart in half, nothing to really worry about.

I do agree that the rotors have a lot of chips but you can also redo the whole set of rotors if someone wanted to some USA and Euro companies are doing this process now. You have to have a ceramic rotor to start with but then they redo them to make them stronger than factory spec believe it or not. SICOM is a big euro company that I'm thinking of.

 

what kind off deal are you thinking?do you have the thickness of each? are these first get or second?will the fronts fit a turbo 996? (is the hat offset turbo friendly?) i have a 996t pccb caliper setup already for 350mm rotors

 

I think the underlying question for the potential buyer might be. Is your behind worth it if these PCCB fail at speed.

These were off of a 996 GT2 I believe but also fit some other early 997 350mm cars.

They are 350x34mm and 350x28mm so they should be EXACTLY what you need if you are using the same sizes in steel but need to confirm offsets if you have a gt3 as I'm unsure exactly. I think they work with the yellow calipers.

 

Ouch poor rotors. I've seen pristine 997TT rotors go for around the asking price but not something in this condition.

Have you stacked a front on top of the rear? They should be 350/330 for the 996 generation.

EDIT: Ah nevermind, they appear to be 997.1 C2S PCCB setup

 

All of these PCCB are 350mm/350mm. I'm not aware they made a 350mm/330mm PCCB as far as I know.
