My kids are old enough to ride in the backseats now so I no longer need this. It was installed in my 03 996 turbo but will fit all 996 and 986 cars.


When installed, this piece sits under the front of the passenger seat and can be used with or without a factory Porsche childseat since I am also including the male seatbelt blade too. Web searches will show postings on how to use this without a Porsche branded childseat. The electrical plug from the bar goes into the empty receptacle plug under the passenger seat and a P dealer will need to activate the this feature on your car. My dealer did this for free, but yours may charge you a nominal fee.


*Note that I somehow misplaced the slightly longer front seat bolts you'll need to install this. Pelican Parts has the longer bolts (999-073-023-01) for $11.00.


I'm also including some front seat rail end caps that have been dremelled to allow them to be fitted with the deactivation bar installed to retain the finished look of your seat rails.

Suncoast has the bar and bolts new for $259.95. Their kit works only with an actual Porsche childseat since it doesn't have the male blade piece I'm including. http://suncoastparts.com/product/99680308302.html

Not to hijack this thread, but this kit also works in a 993. I have the seat that goes to this for sale if anyone is interested.
