I will upgrading my K16s this spring to billets and want to cover the cooling side of things properly.
Interested in good quality aftermarket units and/or would consider GT2RS units. Price is up for discussion as each manufacturer, core sizes and efficiencies are different. Thanks guys.

Hi Pac,
I would encourage you to contact Sambo with By Design on here. He is a great tuner and offers excellent service with his products.
I have the K16 Billets with Wagner ICs, 5 bar FPR, tune, Sachs 764 clutch, boost hoses.....all from Sambo!
I am a DIY guy so let me know if I can help. I have done everything above myself, currently awaiting for my turbos to be ceramacoated before installing.

Sounds like you have a great project underway, let me know how it comes along. I will also be tackling mine as a DIY, I have done much of my own wrenching on my past Porsche's and have done some basic matainenece items on the Turbo. Not bad at all with the turbo, just a little more time.
I've actually spoke with Sam and discussed his products. I know for my application the Wagner ICs and hoses would probably cut it for my power level. They are fairly priced New as are the Awe ICs and hose kit. I would probably go one of those two routes if I go new, as I purely street drive my car and just want a slight upgrade from the base stock units.
I am just throwing a feeler out there to see if any deals are to be had on quality used ICs (as you see some guys time to time parting out old perf. Parts from their TTs.-whether or selling or other reasons).
Be sure to keep me posted on your install, look forward to hearing your results as I'm guessing you'll be just a bit ahead of me (haven't even begun yet).

Hey I hope it goes well for you as well! Yes these are a little tougher to work on and take some time compared to others. Good thing is the parts are sturdy and high quality which makes it a little easier.
I will keep you posted. I had to cut a few of my oil lines to remove turbos so I'm going to do a DIY on installing those. Tight but not impossible!

Great! Look forward to talking as we get our projects underway. What was the issue with the oil lines? Were they freely spinning when attempting your disconnect? I'm sure that will be an excellent DIY to have on the forums. The luck I have, I'll have a similar issue. I had a look at your FPR DIY- that will be extremely helpful to me (as I expected that to be just a bit of a PITA due to location).
The oil lines were actually seized to the flare nut so when you tried to loosen them the line would twist as well. I tried PB Blaster for days of pre soak, heat with a torch but nothing worked. I cut them off and ordered replacements from Boardwalk Porsche. I did free one of return oil lines (from oil can on turbo) so saved that one! This is one of the lines I cut.
i have some new oil lines i ordered and didnt use. they may be what your looking for if porsche is on backorder

Should be quite interesting once I pull everything apart. I was also going to order a new "turbo install kit" Comes with all new hardware including new gaskets for the turbos to exhaust to manifold etc, etc. bolts nuts. Any recommendations? A well known source sells one of these kits, just seeing where you guys purchased or if you purchased ala Carte- as needed. My thought is to pick up the kit to alleviate as many stupid problems as possible. The less curveballs the better.
Thanks guys. 32- I'll be in touch w you if I need new lines if I experience issues when removing the Turbos. I will absolutely be interested in buying them off you if necessary. Thanks!
Have a set of GT2RS intercoolers with modified ducts to fit 996tt..
Only used one summer (2016 - around 5000km).
But they are in Europe, so not sure if shipping would kill the deal for you..
PM me if interested

GT2RS are great units, many are very satisfied using them-I have heard.
Glad I went metal end-tanks, in case I continue down the slippery MOD slope, and decide to push big numbers. Thanks for the offer.
